Updates on Faith Formation Classes through Website Parents please check the website at http://www.sjneumannlaredo.org for class information through the Sunday bulletin. I will inform you on the students’ classes and the reception of the sacraments as soon as I have the information. Please participate with your family in the Sunday Eucharist.
Reception of First Eucharist
We do not have the date yet for the First Communion Mass. Please keep checking this website for any up-dates regarding future dates. Thank you.
All first year Holy Communion Classes
Parents please make sure that your children and youth finish their lessons at home and memorize and review the basic prayers. The basic prayers are found on the last pages of their text book. I will check their books when they return in August for registration.
Second Year Holy Communion Students
Parents have your son/daughter finish the last few chap-ters of their text book. Things to review from their book: Steps for a Good Confession, memorize Act of Contri-tion, and review their basic prayers.

Padres por favor vean que sus hijos terminen las últimas lecciónes del libro. Repasen el examen de consciencia (pasos para una buena confesión) se aprendan el Acto de Contrición y repasen las oraciónes basicas.

Today’s Gospel Reflection - John 14: 15-21
Today’s Gospel is a continuation of last week’s Gospel: Jesus is speaking to his disciples at the Last Supper. In today’s reading Jesus offers encouragement to his disciples, who will soon see him crucified. He reas-sures them that even though he will leave them, he will not abandon them. Instead he will send them the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, through whom the disciples will continue to live in union with Jesus.
Jesus uses the term Advocate to describe the Holy Spirit, whom the disciples will receive. Another word used to describe the Holy Spirit is Paraclete, a legal term meaning “one who offers defense for another.” Note that Jesus says that he will send “another Advocate.” Jesus himself is the first advocate, interceding for his disciples with the Father.
In today’s reading Jesus contrasts his impending departure with the permanence of the gift of the Holy Spirit. Jesus will leave to return to the Father, but the Holy Spirit will remain with the disciples.
Through the gift of the Holy Spirit, the disciples will come to know and appreciate the unity of the Son and the Father. They will also understand that they too participate in the communion between the Father and the Son: “On that day you will realize that I am in my Father and you are in me and I in you” (John 14:20).
Today’s reading is one example of the contrast that John’s Gospel presents between the community of dis-ciples, to whom God will reveal himself, and the unbelieving world, which will remain in darkness. The un-believing world cannot accept the “Spirit of truth,” whom the disciples will receive. Only through the Spirit will God’s revelation and love be known.

Generous and loving God, we remember. We remember the others who have encouraged us. Many people have taught us. We have been forgiven. We have been loved. We admit that we haven’t done it all ourselves. In a way, this offering is a response to all that has come before us.
We pray that the money will be used to encourage, to teach, to forgive, and to love in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Faith Formation Continues…..
First Year Confirmation Students Parents please see that your teen finishes the last few chapters of his/her text book and reviews the basic prayers. I will pick up and check the book when we re-turn back for registration in August. Second Year Confirmation Parents, the students are receiving their classes online given by their catechist, Miss Lorena Abrego. Please, also see that they participate in the Sunday Eucharist online. Spiritual Communion Prayer
My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacra-ment. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentaly, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.
