    The BEXMILL BM series offers youa variety of production capabili-ties. Our machines can handleboth small laboratory require-ments and large production ratesof up to 8 tons per hour. Since our

    machines are versatile, they canbe delivered with many accesso-ries and in different configura-tions. For example, machines areavailable in both portable orstationary designs.

    The BEXMILL can be operated in acontinuous or batch process.Granulation takes place betweenthe conical rotor and screen. Softto medium hard flakes in a varietyof sizes can be granulated in one

    pass.Your required particle size can beachieved using a variety of inter-changeable screens. This gentlesize reduction avoids productdamage and generates a minimal

    amount of fines.You can change screens quicklywithout any tools to avoid costlydowntime. Either way, theBEXMILL maximizes processeffectiveness while reducing

    process costs.

    BEXMILL BMEasy Clean Design

    The combination of the rotorspeed and screen selectiondetermines the final particle sizedistribution (a, b). The critical gapbetween the rotor and screen canbe adjusted manually or automa-tically. The rotor is designed forlong life and maximum perfor-

    mance. Rotor seals are alsoavailable with air or nitrogenpurging.

    The BEXMILL is the perfectmachine for your GMP facility toprocess pharmaceuticals.

    All product contact gaskets andseals use FDA approved materials.

    Each unit can be custom designedto accommodate a wide variety ofupstream and downstreamconnections. For example, inletsand outlets of the mill can bedesigned with beaded collars, tri-clamp connections or vacuumconnections (c).

    Product contact areas can bewashed using CIP systems (d).

    A telescopic outlet (e) can be usedfor in-line fixed installations. The

    telescopic transitions are flangedto the mill for a dust tight seal. Allflanges are machined. Siliconegaskets are used between flanges.The design eliminates the needfor a fixed pipe system betweencomponents. It also facilitates thescreen changing process.

    Flake Crusher FCFine, but not Too Fine

    Principle of OperationThe rotor cuts the materialthrough a screen surface using arasp screen or a hole screen. Thethroughput, particle size rangeand crushing intensity aregoverned by the rotor speed,while the upper limit of theparticle size is dictated by thescreen. Final screening of theproduct to remove oversizedmaterial is not necessary.

    The ConstructionThe rotor is installed in a dust-tight welded casing. The screensare fastened to a supportingbasket. Two eccentric camt e n s i o n i n g d e v i c e s a l l o w

    adjustment of the screen basketrelative to the rotor for maximumgrinding efficiency and screenlife.

    Disassembling and CleaningAll parts in contact with the productbeing processed, including the rotor,screen with basket and cam tensio-ning devices, are easily disassembledfrom the front. Cleaning and disas-sembly can be done in a few minuteswithout the need for removal of theFlake Crusher from the process.

    Connection with Other Equipment The Flake Crusher makes a dust tightconnection with other equipment inthe operation. For cleaning only thequick-acting clamping device isopened. The Flake Crusher is movedto the front, out of the operatingarea, on rails.

    Principle of OperationMaterial is drawn in continuouslythrough the two synchronouscounter-rotating rolls . Theperipheral speed is set to matchthe throughput. A very lowgrinding energy consumption aswell as the synchronous speed of

    the rolls assures a nearly dust-freecrushing process.

    The ConstructionAll Pre-Crushers PC use a weldedcasing with external bearingdesign for low maintenance andhigh reliability. Various materialsof construction are availabledepending on the application.The separately driven crusher rollsutilize an electric drive withoutthe need for gearing.
