Dear lIass Biggs:
You may obtain a microfilm copy of the Skevmr1.-y Baptist Church
Minute Book, 1786 1861, from the Southern Baptist Historical
Commission, 127 Ninth Ave. N., Nash ville, Tennessee, '37203. It
is item 1299-52 in their Vdcrofilm Catalogue, and the service
charge is $12.20. The minute book is 610 pages long. The Baptist
Historical Collection contains the original minute book which seems
to be full of Biggses, including biographies of Kedar Biggs and
Elder Thomas Biggs. I have enclosed xeroxed copies of these.
J
In the back of the Skewarky Minute Book are several IIregisters II
of various members of the Biggs family. Copies are enclosed and
should be most helpful. Incidentally, the historical papers placed
here by Mr. Warren Biggs are the Ske\oJ8.l"ky Minute Book and
several loose sheets. Also enclosed are copies of a letter from
Sophia N. Biggs and a building committee report submitted by In. D.
Biggs.
Elder Joseph Biggs was active in the Kehukee Primitive Baptist
Association and revised one of its histories. I've xeroxed the
title page and it's introduction. This book is in our collection of
rare Baptist items. The copy of the biography of Elder Amariah
Biggs is from the same book, A CONCISE HISTORY OF THE KEHlJlillE
BAPTIST ASSOCIATION.
Since we have put together quite a file on the Biggs family, we
would appreciate your letting us have any missing information you
may discover from other sources. If a Biggs family history exists
or mIl be vlritten 'We 'Would like a copy of it. We are happy to be
of service to you.
CordiaJ..1y yours,
(tvU's.) Jeanette Smith, Acting Director JS/ml Baptist P~storica1
