WEEK 3 EXAM PREPARATION
WEEK 4 EXAM & BEGIN WORKING
On arrival in Japan you will be met by an EA On Ground Program Manager in Tokyo*. Evening one kicks off with a social catch up where you will get to meet the other course participants. The next day you get to explore the city, see the local sights and organise any required essentials before a group dinner. Then it’s time to jump on a plane, bus or train and head to your training resort!
When you first get there we’ll run you through the program outline including goals and training objectives. We’ll take you around for a ski resort orientation where you can check out the scenery. You’ll meet your ski & snowboard school trainers and also collect your season passes. Expect some fun social events during this time as your get to know your fellow program participants.
Your first training days will be focused around developing your personal ski or board skills both on and off piste. You’ll learn about stance and balance and get an introduction to key movements. By the end of this training block you have an understanding of the fundamental skills and the level one certification standards. On days off there’ll be an opportunity to practice, consolidate and cover off indoor course materials in study groups.*Courses in Hokkaido go to their resort for orientation
Receive pre-course support and assistance from your training consultant ahead of your season. They will help you select the perfect resort for you, sort out your visa and make the pre-season process run smoothly.
The Level One Exam is basically an extension of the training days! The course is fun, informative and a chance to develop your teaching and personal skiing or riding skills even further. At the end of the exam module you should be walking away with a pass result! All going well you will start work in time for the busy holiday period!
Note: The above is a general outline - timing and inclusions vary from resort to resort; program to program.
Your last block of training days is geared toward getting you ready for the level one exam. You’ll also spend time on developing your level one demonstrations, teaching progressions and practice group teaching scenarios. You also continue to develop your personal ski or board skills on a variety of terrain. On your days off there’ll be an opportunity for you to shadow a ski & board school lessons and cover off indoor course materials in study groups including any pre-exam written modules.
During your next block of training days you’ll continue to develop your personal ski or board skills. Your trainers will step up the tempo and get you into some more challenging terrain and hopefully to some local powder stashes and runs.

PAST INTERN REVIEWS
Jonathon, Northstar
“My experience was definitely one for the books. Though I’ve skied off and on throughout my life, I
wasn’t as prepared for the workout I got from having a fun, hands-on learning program as I did
at the EA program in Northstar CA. It’s definitely a great way to get into a great passion that will open
the doors for a worldwide career.
If you’re young, love snow sports, want to share your passion with others, and live to travel,
I recommend doing this program.”
James, Cypress
“My experience with EA Ski and Snowboard was amazing! Teaching snowboarding was so much fun,
it’s the best job I’ve ever had.
We started off with 3 weeks of intense training to get us prepped for doing our CASI Level 1. The
trainers were so great.
I can’t wait to get back on the mountain for next season and start teaching again!”

Mitch, Cypress
“A piece of advice, if like me you were looking into this program but not sure if you are gonna do it,
just take the plunge and do it, you won’t regret it!
Cypress is a beautiful mountain with a huge variety of terrain and mountain views on one side, and ocean views on the other, truly no other resort
is quite like it, as for EA, these guys are with you from start to finish, they give you everything you need and are willing to help out as much as they
can.”
Nora, Queenstown
“By Sunday we’d all collected those highly anticipated red jackets and were already working, half of us at the Remarkables where I’m based and
the other half at Coronet Peak.
I knew we all looked the part that first day as all of a sudden people were coming to me with
questions. I took my first lesson and it was then that I realised that getting paid to do something
you love is one of the best things.”
