Skills for All aims to:
• Raise the skills level of South Australians. • Increase the number of South Australians with post school
qualifications.• Increase labour force participation and productivity.
by making a VET system that:
• Is demand driven, responding quickly and flexibly to the needs of individuals and industry.
• Is simpler to access and navigate.• Supports more people to enter and complete training.
The Components:
• Entitlement for individuals • Pathway from school – TGSS• Addition support through Learner Support Services
• Funding for employers/industry• Skills in the Workplace
• Funding for community outreach and pathways• ACE• Employment programs – SA Works
Entitlement for individuals
From July 2012, most South Australians will be eligible for a government funded, low cost training
place
Students can choose the approved provider and the training from over 1400 courses
Entitlement generous but limited
Training Guarantee for SACE Students (TGSS)
•Students in school in SACE
•The fundamentals of the scheme remain the same:
– schools select students to participate
– additionally, RTOs apply their own selection criteria
– a new prescribed list of Certificate II and Certificate III
qualifications that apply to the scheme.
Learner Support Services
•Phase 2 trial commences from July 2012 with over 1000 places•Increase number of RTOs to 8•Support for complex needs which includes
– Single and teenaged parents– Students with a disability– ICAN/FLO students
•Potential wider rollout from 1 July 2013
