Skills Humber 2019 was the first time we had delivered an event for the Humber region with the intention of recreating our successful formula of large scale, hands – on events for young people, teachers and parents & carers. The groups were made up of 2,925 teachers and students EVENING OPENING SPONSOR Evening visitors were made up of young people and their parents, as well as young adults. 11,300 letters were sent to parents / carers of young people with a personal invite to visit 42 additional individuals visited during our open days “It’s great to see such a large- scale careers event coming to Hull and the Humber region. A Bond Holder’s Breakfast event, attended by VIP delegates, was held on the morning of the 6 March.

A Live Opportunities Board showcased the current jobs, work experience, training and apprenticeship vacancies available.

The Careers Hub was hosted by staff from Hull City Council, North East Lincolnshire Council and HCUK where visitors received impartial careers advice, CV writing tips and interview skills.

The Skills Theatre showcased local talent and included an exciting timetable of presentations and performances throughout the evening and daytime.

4 Get Skilled stands gave visitors an interactive taste of careers in carpentry and joinery, medicine and biology, health and social care, welding and fabrication and construction.

Interactive content – Over 70% of exhibitors had interactive activities.
