Chicoutimi and Jonquiere are sit‐uated on the shores of the Saguenay river and La Baie is found on thewhimsically named, the Baie des Ha Ha! This French‐speaking regionis north of Quebec City and is considered a small oasis in the midst ofthe nearly uninhabited Canadian wilderness.

Day 6 Gaspésie, Quebec 8:00 AM ‐ 4:00 PM Located in eastern Quebec, Canada, the Gaspe Peninsula isrenowned as one of the world’s most beautiful destinations. Out‐door enthusiasts will enjoy the diverse landscape here, from stun‐ning national parks, mountains and meadows to rugged cliffs liningthe Atlantic coast, teeming with wildlife habitats.

Day 8 Quebec City 8:00 AM ‐ 8:00 PM Quebec City lies on the Saint Lawrence River and is divided by steepbluffs into Upper Town – which includes the old quarter – and LowerTown. Perched atop Cap‐Diamant, the old quarter is the only walledcity in North America and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 11 Sydney 8:00 AM ‐ 5:00 PMThe coal industry brought immigration from many parts of theworld, giving Sydney a multicultural mix of over 50 ethnic back‐grounds and a global flavor to its history. Located on Cape BretonIsland, Sydney is also an ideal jumping‐off point for scenic adven‐tures.

Day 13 Saint John (Bay of Fundy) 10:00 AM ‐ 7:00 PM Saint John's history is evident in its weather‐worn look, passing thetests of salt air, sea winds and a devastating fire that have all con‐tributed to making Saint John the greatest little city in the east. Since that time Es‐kimos, Portuguese, Basques and Captain James Cook have fre‐quented the area. Today, Corner Brook is a modern, city nestledamong scenic hills near the Gulf of St. Lawrence.

Commissioner Bill FrancisWilliam Francis, a second-generation Salvationist earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Houghton College, Masters in Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary, an has conferred an honorary Doctor of Divinity by Houghton College in 2002. Today, Commissioners William and Marilyn Francis serve as Territorial Commanderand Territorial President of Women’s Ministries, respectively, for Canada and Bermuda. They were commissionedas Salvation Army officers in 1973 and held appointments in the USA and UK. They have also been zealous ad-vocates for Christian higher education.

Dr. Carl SchultzDr. Carl Schultz holds his Ph.D in Hebrew Bible from Brandeis University in Waltham, MA. He is the Emeritusprofessor of the Old Testament at Houghton College where he has taught for over 40 years and served as theChair for the Department of Religion and Philosophy. He is currently serving as pastor of the First United MethodistChurch of Marlborough, MA. (he also served as minister of two United Methodist churches while carrying a full-time teaching load). Dr. Schultz is well traveled, having been abroad 34 times, many of them with EducationalOpportunities.
