Business Intelligence Architect

Responsibilities

Lead analysis, architecture, design, and development of data warehouse and business intelligence solutions

Work independently or as part of a team to design and develop analytics/reporting solutions using SSRS, SSAS, PerformancePoint, and Excel/Excel Services

Assist business development team with pre-sales activities and RFPs

Assist in the estimating and planning of projects

Collaborate in the creation/enhancement of data structures (Data Marts, Cubes) to facilitate decision-making

Collaborate with client DW/BI/Reporting team to standardize reporting implementation across a variety of contexts

Design and develop ETL processes using MS SQL Server 2008 SSIS or other related tools/technologies

Required Skills and Experience

Prior consulting experience

5–7 years of experience in Business Intelligence and reporting solutions development

Bachelor’s degree in business or technical area required, or the equivalent combination of education and experience

The ability to design complex Business Intelligence systems using a range of technologies, including Microsoft BI

Demonstrated complex analytical capabilities

Expert knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server Business Intelligence Stack including: MS SQL Server 2005/2008 SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, MS Excel Pivot Tables over SSAS cubes, and MDX

Strong emphasis on training and mentoring existing senior staff in best practices

Architectural concepts and processes within an Enterprise Data Warehouse

SQL Server stored procedures, SSIS scripting.

Experience with Business Intelligence Reporting Tools and Technologies: Report Builder 2.0/3.0

Desired Skills and Experience

Big 4 consulting experience a plus

Security implementation in BI solutions, including user access security with SSRS

Agile BI DW development methodologies

Data Mining within data warehouse

PerformancePoint and SharePoint 2007 EE desired

SharePoint 2010 exposure a plus

C# & .NET development a plus

MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional): Business Intelligence Developer Certification a plus
