February 18, 2010 Attention: All Group Presidents, Sports Directors, Physical Directors, Physical Directresses and members of the Supreme Assembly Subject: 2010 Slovak Catholic Sokol - Athletic Program Dear Sokols and Sokolky; I would like to wish each of you a very Happy New Year and hope the Christmas season was filled with joy, excitement and great memories. It is hard to believe that 2009 is already over and we are now into a new year. I am hopeful that this year will be filled with health and happiness for you and your families. Enclosed is the information pertaining to our 2010 program. I firmly believe it is a useful tool to help our local group leaders manage their responsibilities. With this said, the 2010 Slovak Catholic Sokol athletic calendar has been finalized and now is the time to start preparing and organizing your respective teams. This package is a complete itinerary of our 2010 sports program. It includes information about the dates, locations and accommodations for all the fraternal events. As well I have included all tournament entry forms, any rule changes from last year, entry fee information and deadline dates. I have also included a section that outlines the needs and requirements to host an international event. Please read this package carefully and contact me directly if you have any additional questions. As the leader in your respective group, I encourage you to circulate this information to all of your local officers and members who wish to participate. I strongly request that you adhere to the tournament entry form deadlines or penalties will apply. In addition, if tournament entry form deadlines are not met, then I will not be able to guarantee that tournament schedules and prize lists will be published in our Falcon before the event.

As in the past, it will be the responsibility of each team captain to secure his or her own hotel reservations at the various tournaments. I will “block off” a number of rooms on behalf of the organization, however you must contact the hotel to secure space. As mandated by the 2007 Convention, all new members who are enrolled in the organization after January 1st 2008 will require a new minimum of $5,000.00 worth of insurance coverage to participate in the 2010 program. Anyone who was a member before this date, can participate provided they have the minimum $3,000.00 insurance or annuity coverage. Therefore, I strongly suggest that you discuss this matter with your current members and if necessary, increase their insurance coverage or annuity coverage to ensure that they will be eligible to participate in this year’s program. Please check with the home office to determine whether you need to increase your coverage. If you are 65 or older, you may not be required to increase your coverage. The sooner we begin to prepare, the better the 2010 program will be for everyone involved. So let’s work together and make this year a memorable experience for all of our members and families. With your support we can make this year one of the best ever for the Slovak Catholic Sokol’s athletic and fraternal program! Looking forward to seeing you. Zdar Boh! Sincerely Yours,

Brother Edward D. Moeller Supreme Director of Sports and Athletics
