Hello once again. Looks like this will be another skinny summer column, unless a dozen or so of you special delivery your hot July 4 DX. I have

i done a Merriman and not even turned the thing on for a couple of weeks; the only DX has been some 20 meter phone as the solar flux hit 109 2 days I ago and the band has been alive. Going to catch up on all the info from the foreign bulletins this time, which I scan for interesting catches as well as changes. etc. Phone here is 404-633-1198 before midnight ELT.

From New Zealand DX Times .... 1379-CB138 R. Colo Colo was heard here, no date given. 557 Quazvin heard on this freq. (ex 558, and there goes our small chancefor this rare country-CH) 714 HLKA S. Korea noted ex 710, they own a freq meter? (CH) 963, 999 are the freq's for a couple of the new Indonesians on odd chanxs. Power on 963 is 10 kw, sked is 2300-0100 and 1000-1600 daily, with 0000-1600 Sundays. Iraq-Babylon 1035 is listed as 200 kw. Gilbert Islands-Tarawa is reported as off at 1000 GUT Saturdays, and not 1030 m H 77. Syria-Dar el Zier has moved to 827 from 953, with 60 kw. (Of all places to move! Anybody else want to figure out what AA's we are hearing here? It was a mess before they moved here and even more so now-CH) Cdlombia Radio Reloj Barranquilla hrd on 1300. HJTP Radio La Colina 1230 e x H J B N La Voz de Galeras noted on 1005. as well as HJJR. Via Sunspot for those. Paraguay ZPlO Em. Paraguay has been heard in Norway on 1303, ex 1300. Via Distance. Some LA catches from the loggings section; Huancavilca, ~ c u a d o r m 605. Gran Colombia 615 good at 0607 s/off, 1075 Reloj Medellin heard at 0515, 645 URUGUAY SODRE fair w/ID. Hong Kong 545 now s/off at 1905 w/GSTQ, via IRCA.1016.8 DXED Davao City hrd till 1300 s/off, 1500 Sunday.

From MV-EKO of Arctic Radio Club .... Uruguay, CX144 R. Riviera is listed here and signs off at 0400. USSR The EBU monthly report lists Moghiler and Maikop on 1169, with 1000 and 500 kw respectively. Dominican Republic HIAR R. San Cristobal here. Kaiti 1080 will soon see 4VRD, R. Nationale. (This has been mentioned in many bulletins and from the looks of things it is supposed to be on the air very soon-CH) Colombia 1160 HJ.. R. Suramer- icana was heard here in March by Cesar Objio during a trip to Caracas. Most likely this is a new name for HJPF R . Antenna, as Floridablanca is a suburb to Bucamaranga.

From the World Radio TV Handbook Newsletter .... Finland Helsinki 557 and Turku 962 both now broadcast in English at 2030 on Thur/Fri/Sat. (also re- layed to me by the thoughtful Brian Vernon-CH) Germany the Foreign Service of Deutschlandfunk is now aired as follows: Czech 1930 on 1538, Danish 1930 (8) on 1268, Dutch 1810 (W) on 1268, English 1800 (Sun) on 1538, 1840 (W) on 1268, Hungarian 2100 on 1538, Italian 2130 (W) on 1538, Norwegian 2000 (W) on 1268, Rumanian 2030 on 1538, Serbo-Croat 2000 on 1538, Swedish 2030 (W) on 1268. The Rumanian and Serbo-Croat pgms are produced by DW. France France-Inter carries Spanish fm 2200-2300 on 944. USSR corrections to LW ans MW listings: 155 Khabarovsk 1958-1500 (l.L), 218habarovsk 1900-1500 (I), 254 Kazan 0200-1600, add 854 Penza 0200-2200 (1.L) 872 add Mezen.
