SMART ART

Click on the Insert tab and click on SmartArt.

Click on a type and then click on a layout. Click OK.

Your SmartArt will be inserted into your document with a text pane.

Click on the X to close the text pane. It can be reopened at any time.

You can use the SmartArt Tools to change the layout, color, style, and more.

Click on Change Colors to choose another color for your SmartArt.

To choose another style, click on the SmartArt Styles “more” down arrow.

Click on the arrow to open up the text pane.

You can click on [Text] in the text pane or on the object, then type your text.

Text Pane Rules

1. To create a new line of bulleted text in the Text pane - press ENTER.

2. To indent a line in the Text pane, select the line that you want to indent, and then under SmartArt Tools, on the Design tab - click DEMOTE or press TAB.

3. To negatively indent a line - click PROMOTE or SHIFT+TAB. (It is not possible to demote text more than one level from the text in the line above, nor can you demote the top level shape.)

NOTE: Any of these manipulations updates the mapping between the bullets in the Text pane

and the shapes in the layout for the SmartArt graphic. 3

USE DRAWING CANVAS FOR GRAPHICS

Click on the Insert tab and Shapes. Then click on New Drawing Canvas.

Use the Drawing Tools to format the drawing canvas. Graphics can be inserted inside of it.

Hover over the corner dots and side dots, then click and drag to expand the drawing canvas. 7
