External Fixation Target – Designed and built for years of performance, our external fixation target gives you the ability to instantly activate a fixation device to fixate even the youngest of children. This proven fixation device illuminates a series of LEDs in randomized asterisk shapes, plays very soothing music, and can be controlled by any of the M&S input devices.

Auto-DVD play – This exclusive feature allows the user to access the content playing in the DVD drive for instant fixation when needed. There’s no waiting for the disk to spin-up, nor the need to select chapters or titles. Users can create their own patient education DVDs and play them on demand.

Contrast Sensitivity Testing – Using standard Snellen and Sloan Letters at contrast levels from 100% to 0.8% contrast, our protocol gives you the ability to identify the patient’s contrast threshold rather than just their ability to distinguish the smallest letter size at some random contrast level. Research conducted by the University of Toronto and Hospital for Sick Children determined that the Smart System Letter Contrast Sensitivity protocol is as effective as the Pelli-Robson wall chart in diagnosing adults and children with contrast issues.

Non-Accommodative Fixation Target – A fixation target that moves within a small target area giving the eye care professional the required fixation without being affected by accommodation. The user can easily program the timing of the target movement or simply keep it stationary. Developed by M&S at the suggestion and guidance of Dr. Robert Gross, Ft. Worth, Texas.

Waggoner Color Testing – Developed by Terry L. Waggoner, O.D. and currently in use, and validated, by the U.S. Navy, this test detects, classifies and quantifies the degree of color vision deficiencies. The test correlates 100% with the Nagel Anomaloscope, providing greater correlation than the Ishihara plates. The Waggoner color images also eliminate the potential for providing high frequency clues to the patient, which is a risk associated with computerized color cone tests.

Threshold Distance Stereo Testing – An industry exclusive, the Smart System PC-Plus gives you the ability to determine threshold distance stereo testing with either red\blue anaglyphs or liquid crystal shutter glasses (optional). Both applications can use random dot stereo, contour stereo or LEA Symbols for quick, efficient analysis.
