A lot of this work is outsourced to subcontractors who they have built partnerships with. The problem with outsourcing of work is the absence of job visibility. Clients call to request changes or ask about progress and a number of calls need to be made to get job updates. This took a lot of time and even getting daily update reports took time for both the subcontractor and AGL Assist Brisbane. The solution to this problem was SmartComms. SmartComms is built on the back of our user community interface platform allowing two separate businesses using SmartTrade (even a single license user) to send a work request to another SmartTrade user. The requestor be- comes the “Master Contractor” and the receiver of the job or Work Order becomes the “Subcontractor”. The benefits to both parties has more than recovered cost in a very short time frame. “Being able to click on a job line and view our subcontractor’s latest notes is awesome ” says Lisa van Haren Administration Manager.
