DescriptionThe SmartLink (SLN-88BT) is an 8 x 8 HDMI® matrix switch controlled by an Apple® iPhone®, iPod touch®, iPad® or iPad mini® using Savant’s TrueControl apps. The SLN-88BT is designed using HDBaseT Alliance® specifications allowing direct connectivity with HDBaseT™-compliant devices without requiring a Savant SmartLink receiver. SmartLink technology is designed to ensure interoperability with third-party HDBaseT™ products.

HD Matrix Switcher

The SLN-88BT provides eight HDMI® inputs for Blu-ray Disc® and DVD players, HDTV receivers, computers, media receivers, and other HD digital sources. Digital outputs include eight HDMI, eight Sony/Philips Digital Interconnect Format (S/PDIF—digital coax) ports, and eight SmartLink connections to digital sinks (displays, projectors, or computers).

Multi-Channel Audio

HDMI handles the latest 7.1 surround sound formats such as Dolby® TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio™. The SLN-88BT supports high-performance distribution of all surround sound encoded media, as well as uncompressed multi-channel linear PCM, to every AV receiver and display.

HDBaseT® provides consumers with full multimedia distribution with high reliability, longer distance and lower cost all through one cable. The SLN-88BT delivers 5Play™ features over a single common and cost-effective category cable solution.

Integrated ControlThe SLN-88BT includes TCP/IP, Bi-directional RS-232 and IR ports for simple integration and control by Savant Controllers or leading 3rd party controllers.The broad range of control ports makes it simple to manage all your favorite audio and video sources.

Applications

The SLN-88BT provides convenient, cost-effective audio and video distribution on a single cable path and readily distributes your favorite digital sources up to a 100 meters (328 ft).

It delivers a complete Savant SmartSystem™ when paired with an external host, or can be integrated with a third-party control solution.

(8)IR Inputs and (8) IR Outputs - Uses four-pin screw down connectors (3.81mm).The IR IN ports receive IR commands from a Savant controller with IR control or third party IR control box and send them over the Cat5e, Cat6, or Cat7 port (SmartLink) to the distant ends IR output port to control devices in that zone. Conversely, IR OUT ports can drive an IR emitter(blaster) with IR commands received from the distant ends IR IN port.NOTE: IR IN and OUT ports are 5V tolerant only.

11 Link/Activity LED

Green indicates an Ethernet link has been established.Green flashing indicates Ethernet activity.Off indicates an Ethernet link has not been established.

12 Speed LED Green indicates an Ethernet speed of 100 Mb.

13 LAN (1) RJ45 10/100 Base-T, auto-negotiating port with Link/Activity LEDs (same as Items 11 and 12). Through this Ethernet port, the SLN-88BT provides a single-point connection to a home network or corporate LAN.

14 Debug / RS232
