Packet Capture from SZ GUI
12
‒ Capture packets natively from the SZ UI
‒ Supported options:
• Capture interfaces (2.4/5 GHz and wired interface)
• Capture mode (stream to Wireshark or save to file)
• Frame type filter
• MAC address filter
‒ AP file is sent to SZ after capture is finished

Move APs Across SZ Clusters
13
‒ Use cases:
• Ability to search for AP(s) by existing search options
• Ability to select an AP(s) from search list and move the AP(s) to a different cluster via IP address or FQDN of the Control Interface of the new cluster
‒ Details:
• If AP(s) moving unsuccessful ( unable to land on target node within 10 minutes), the AP(s) will come back to the original cluster’s staging zone
• The original AP records will be deleted once administrator confirms the move AP action.
• AP will be switched over to destination IP within 1 minute.
• If moving entire zone from cluster A to cluster B and some of the APs in A are disconnected, those APs will be moved to B as they reconnect to A.

Send GPB Streaming Data for Specific Domain/Zone
14
‒ Feature to add Northbound node streaming ability control
‒ If "Stream GPB data by Domain/Zone" option is clicked, user can set any one of nodes(Domain or Zone) to decide which node AP message can pass thru

Events/Alarms Control for Specific Zones
15
‒ Provide zone-specific event management functionality to enable/disable events on a per-zone basis using a zone override feature
‒ Allow administrators to change the email notification recipient for each zone
‒ Enhance the event email notification by including the Zone and Domain information in the Subject line

Adaptive RF Cell Size
18
Problem
Dense AP deployments suffer higher co-channel and adjacent channel interference
• Increased interference leads to poor client experience
• Manual fine-tuning of RF parameters is time consuming and error-prone.
• Intermittent drops in Wi-Fi coverage (outages, maintenance, etc.)
18
AP(s) automatically adapt Wi-Fi coverage range using intelligent network-aware algorithms
‒ Real-Time adaptation Tx and Rx cell sizes
• Using periodic co-channel neighbor scans and RF interference estimates
Feature Benefit:Sustained higher average Wi-Fi throughput in dense AP networks– Detects/Mitigates under-deployed and over-deployed Wi-Fi Networks
• E.g. upgrading 2x2 AP(s) with 3x3 AP(s) in an existing Wi-Fi network topology• Compensate for temporarily ‘down’ AP(s)
– Better user experience in dense AP deployments

Air-Time Decongestion
19
Problem
Need effective reduction of Management Frames in high density Wi-Fi environments
• Excessive Management Frame Traffic in dense Wi-Fi Deployments
• Redundant Responses from co-located AP(s) in dense AP deployments saturate available Wi-Fi Spectrum
• Poor connectivity and low per-client Throughput numbers lead to poor Client experience
Proprietary techniques to limit Management Frame Exchanges between AP(s) and Clients in high density deployments
– AP(s) use WLAN and RF parameters to selectively respond to clients
– Proprietary, Innovative schemes minimize Management Frame Exchanges to increase overall Network Efficiency for data traffic
– Higher Throughput for Applications leads to Enhanced Quality of Experience for Clients
Feature Benefit:– Increased Air-Time for Users’ data traffic, Better Quality of Experience for
Clients

Transient Client Management
20
Use statistical methods to delay AP’s associations with Transient Clients
– Venue administrators will tune configuration parameters based on typical dwell times & RSSI of transient clients
– Heuristic techniques to selectively respond to transient Clients
Feature Benefit:– Efficient Air-Time Utilization, Minimize Cellular to Wi-Fi handoffs of
Transient Clients
Ruckus SolutionProblem
Transient Clients degrade user experience for connected clients in Wi-Fi Networks
• Short-lived connections between AP(s) and Transient Clients degrades Wi-Fi Network performance
• Typically seen in Train stations, bus terminals, and HotSpotvenues such as SMBs

Per-Packet Adaptive Power
21
Problem
Typically AP(s) transmitting at maximum Tx power aggravate RF interference for
neighbor AP(s)
• AP(s) transmit at max. Tx power to enhance coverage
• Wi-Fi throughput optimized for far-away clients
• However, most clients in a dense network are very close to AP, excess Tx Power increases RF interferences for neighboring AP(s)
21
Typically AP(s) transmitting at maximum Tx power aggravate RF interference for neighbor AP(s)
– Rate Adaptation algorithm picks optimal MCS rate per Client
– Per-Packet Adaptive Power algorithm factors in Client proximity (RSSI) and iterates to lower Tx power level while maintaining constant MCS rate
Feature Benefit: Limits Channel interference for adjacent AP(s)– Reduce RF interference enables efficient usage of the
Wi-Fi medium • Higher Average throughput for clients
