Our SMASH awards, which are nominated by class teachers, reward children for all t heir hard work during the term and particularly focus on how t he children contribute to class and school life. We are now into our 4th term for the children to receive these trophies, and to see the joy on their faces when they receive their trophies is a lovely thing. S.M.A.S.H Awards Spring Term 2013 S.M.A.S.H NEWSLETTER Events Planner Thursday 25th April 2013 - Bags2school Collection Friday 18th October 2013 - A nnual Race Night Fundraising The Xmas Fayre was a huge success with £120 raised thanks to your support, the fantastic T-towels have so f ar raised £500, we still have a few left if anyone want s to purchase one please see Mrs Earnshaw. The Bags2school c ollection in September was a brilliant joint effort from children, parents and carers, foraging in their cupboards and lofts with the coll ection raising £330. please help again if you can for the above collection date.  My name is Melanie Hughe s and I am the SMASH secretary. I have been involved with fundraising for the children at school since my son was in Nursery, he is no w in year 3 and my daughter is in Recept ion. I got involved as I wanted to show my children that I cared about their school and wanted to help the school provide things for them and other peoples children, which normally could not be budgeted for through normal school funds. Fundraising is hard work, but I love the part where we c an fund the contribution trophies at the end of term, the children's faces are fantastic when they know they have received one.  URGENT: We need more new members urgently, numbers are falling, and so are our ideas and hands to help with all the fundraising, it only takes few hours every term to meet up and possibly help at events . If we do not increase numbers, fundrai sing will no longer be able to be completed and SMASH will fold. Help is also needed with the cost of the residential to be conducted later in the yea r.  As you can see all c hildren are included when we l ook to spend the monies raised.  Committee Focus
