Preface
This manual is the supplement to the Quick Start supplied with your Smile package.
This manual explains how to use the Smile in Source.
We advise you to also consult our website www.plugwise.com beside the manual.
Here you will find frequently asked questions and the Smile software and installation manuals.

Installeer Source
In order to install the Smile in Source, the Smile must already have been installed and configured as described in the installation manual and/or the Quick Start supplied.
The Smile must be connected to the same network as the Windows PC on which Source is installed.
Open the web browser on your PC and go to https://smile.plugwise.net, enter your Short ID and log in. If the Smile is connected to the same network as your PC, the local HTML interface of the Smile will open.

Checkmark the option ‘I want to add a Plugwise Smile” and click on “Next”.
Enter the Short ID for the Smile that you want to connect. Attention, the Smile must already be connected and set up on the same local network where Source is running. Click on “Next”.
You then automatically go to the rates screen. If this is not the case, click through manually until you reach the rates screen. Enter your current energy rates here. So the lists in Source are correct.

Step 2: Open the Configuration Wizard for Source Once the installation is finished, open the Configuration Wizard for Source. To do this, click on the start menu on your computer and then click on “All Programs”. Open the Plugwise Source folder and open the Configuration Wizard.
Step 3: Go through the configuration steps that are relevant to you.
In order to install the Smile in Source, the Smile must already have been installed and configured as described in the installation manual and/or the Quick Start supplied.
The Smile must be connected to the same network as the Windows PC on which Source is installed.
Open the web browser on your PC and go to https://smile.plugwise.net, enter your Short ID and log in. If the Smile is connected to the same network as your PC, the local HTML interface of the Smile will open.
I have already been using Source for a short time
Click on “Add meters” in the Settings main menu.
Enter the Smile ID for the Smile that you want to connect. Attention, the Smile must already be connected and set up on the same local network where Source is running. Click on “Next”.
You are then automatically directed to the “Devices screen”. Remember to enter your rates via “Energy rates” in the “Settings” main menu.
Step 1: Go to SettingsClick on “Settings” at the bottom right of the screen. Then click on “Add meters” to add the Smile.
Step 2: Enter the Short ID Enter the Short ID and click on “Next”. The wizard is closed and the “Devices screen” is opened. Within a few minutes, the meters of the Smile will appear on the screen.
Changing settings
When you are using Source together with the Smile it is not possible to change the settings of the Smile in Source. When you are using Source,
you can only read out the Smile (read only).
You can change the Smile settings via the Smile’s HTML interface.
Deleting the Smile
You can delete the Smile from Source by selecting the Smile in the ‘Gateways’ screen and clicking on it with the right mouse button.
Select ‘Delete’.
The history of the device to which the Smile was connected remains in Source.
