A featured musician on multiple Grammy-‐nominated albums, Sanabria has become a leader in the Afro-‐Cuban, Brazilian, and jazz fields as both a drummer and percussionist, and is recognized as one of the most articulate musician-‐scholars of la tradiciónliving today. This afternoon, musicians of all ages are welcome to participate in a moderated conversation with Sanabria and an interactive music demonstration with his band. Warner Bros. Handy, widely known as the “Father of the Blues,” gave the genre its contemporary form. This concert marks 100 years since the publication of Handy's classic St. Louis Blues, and features large and combo ensembles focusing on the evolution of the blues from the early 20th
