The theme for the month was “Music Makers," and David Groom and Jeffrey Herbert started with a roll of drums while other members of Den 5 marched in and sang the National Anthem. The famOy program was de- voted to music, and parents, sisters and brothers sang to the cubs, who replied wdth songs of their own. The Webelos den presented its one and only no- practice band, and the closing song was led by Den 1. Personal inspection of the cubs was made in anticipation of the pack reregistration later this month. Ninety per cent of the boys scored in the upper 90s on items such as uniforms, insignia and personal cleanli- ness. Three new Bobcat candi- dates, Richard Murphy, Chris Staiger and Paul Smith, re- ceived Wolf books and square coins. They will be taken into the pack at the blue and gold dinner this month. Bear badges were presented to Darren Smith, John Galligan, Jay Ros- sitz and David Groom, who also received a gold arrow. The largest collection of Webelos activity badges went to Michael , Martin, who re- ceived athlete, artist, engineer, forester, scholar, scientist and sportsman badges. Other We- belos cubs receiving badges were Alan Murray, athlete; Paul Carr, athlete, and Stephen LaMarca, athlete and scholar. The awards were presented by Cubmaster Ed Schlosser and Webelos leader Russ Vaspol. The attendance award was pre- sented to the Webelos den by Assistant Cubmaster Paul Carr. Prizes earned by the boys during the fund-raising cam- paign were presented by Bob- cat Chris Staiger on behalf of his mother, Mrs. Jane Staiger, the pack committee chairman. First prize, a watch, went to Jamse Fernandez; second, i fishing i>ole, went to David Dugan, and third, a camera, went to David Groom. All other cubs received a pen and pencil set. As Mrs. Staiger had to leave the meeting early, her son, Chris, was called to receive the recognition given her for her work with the pack during the last several years. On her be- half, he accepted the large handmade necklace, presented her by the pack. W o r th y o f ‘N o te s ’. Cub Pack 60 held its January meeting last week Tuesday a t the Phoenicia e l e m e n t a r y school. The theme for the month was “Music Makers," and David Groom and Jeffrey Herbert started with a roll of drums while other members of Den 5 marched in and sang the National Anthem.

The famOy program was de­voted to music, and parents, sisters and brothers sang to the cubs, who replied wdth songs of their own. The Webelos den presented its one and only no­practice band, and the closing song was led by Den 1.

Personal inspection of the cubs was made in anticipation of the pack reregistration later this month. Ninety per cent of the boys scored in the upper 90s on items such as uniforms, insignia and personal cleanli­ness.

Three new Bobcat candi­dates, Richard Murphy, Chris Staiger and Paul Smith, re­ceived Wolf books and square coins. They will be taken into the pack at the blue and gold dinner this month. Bear badges were presented to Darren Smith, John Galligan, Jay Ros- sitz and David Groom, who also received a gold arrow.

The largest collection of Webelos activity badges went to Michael , Martin, who re­ceived athlete, artist, engineer, forester, scholar, scientist and sportsman badges. Other We­belos cubs receiving badges were Alan Murray, athlete; Paul Carr, athlete, and Stephen LaMarca, athlete and scholar.

The awards were presented by Cubmaster Ed Schlosser and Webelos leader Russ Vaspol. The attendance award was pre­sented to the Webelos den by Assistant Cubmaster Paul Carr.

Prizes earned by the boys during the fund-raising cam­paign were presented by Bob­cat Chris Staiger on behalf of his mother, Mrs. Jane Staiger, the pack committee chairman. First prize, a watch, went to Jamse Fernandez; second, i fishing i>ole, went to David Dugan, and third, a camera, went to David Groom. All other cubs received a pen and pencil set.

As Mrs. Staiger had to leave the meeting early, her son, Chris, was called to receive the recognition given her for her work with the pack during the last several years. On her be­half, he accepted the large handmade necklace, presented her by the pack.

Mr. and Mrs. Francis Avery and son, James, and Mrs. Edna Avery of Amenia visited Mrs. Miilicent Buerge Sunday after­noon.

dents, representing nearly a dozen junior and senior high schools in Ulster county, will attend today’s sessions on the county legislature a t 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. in the legislative cham­bers of the county office build­ing at Kingston. The partici­pating youngsters have elected officials for the Youth-in-Gov- emment progreun to parallel county, state and congressional officers.
