REPORT ON ISLAMABAD TRIP

One of the important academic activities of university life are the study trips. They are

very essential for the students in order to accomplish their studies in a better way.

So one of those trips was our Islamabad trip that was held on Friday 18th of may

2008. That was the last trip of our Bsc Engineering Program.

Time Of Departure:

On 17th may 2008 ,it was decided that the trip will depart to

Islamabad at 8:30am sharp. Our CR informed all the students to come on time .

On 18th of may, the trip departed to Islamabad at 10:00 am.

Total No. Of Students:

The total no of students in our study trip was approximately

100. For that purpose two buses were arranged for them

List of Places Visited:

On our trip we visited following places

1. NIPS (National Institute of Pakistan Studies)

2. QAU (Quaid e azam University)

3. Pakistan Monument

4. Virsa Museum

5. Blue Area

NIPS:

Our first destination during the trip was NIPS. The reached their at 11:00 am. At

NIPS we visited their library. There are approximately 2500 books on Pakistan studies. Their

was no proper sitting places in library. The students didn’t show any interest in these books.

After visiting the library, one of NIPS Professor arranged an introductory lecture on

NIPS. He told us that NIPS is an Autonomous body. It was its own budget and

administration. NIPS take 25 to 30 undergraduate students and 10 to 15 postgraduate students

each year. Approximately 10 students are doing their PhD from NIPS.

QAU (Quaid e Azam University):

After visiting NIPS our next destination was QAU. QAu is

three kilometers from NIPS. We reached their at 12:00 pm . At QAU we visited following

places

1. Center of excellence in Gender affairs

2. Department of economics

3. Central library

4. Management sciences department

5. Department of physics

6. Jamia Mosque

7. Cafeteria

And many more…..

The university was well organized and maintained. It was well decorated with seasonal

flowers and plants. Their were proper sitting places for the students.

The central university was well equipped with 100000 books. Photo state shop was

located inside the library. The sitting arrangement for the students inside the library was

exceptional.

After visiting the library, we offered juma prayers in jamia mosque of QAU. The

mosque has the capacity of approximately 10000 persons.

After prayers we went to cafeteria to ate Vegetable rolls and cold drinks.

Pakistan Monument:

After QAU our next destination was Virsa museum. We

reached their at 2:45 pm. When reached their, the museum was clesed due to load shedding

from 3:00 pm to 4:00pm

So we decided to go to Pakistan monument first. Pm is 1km away from virsa museum.

Every student bought a ticket of Rs. 10 for entering the monument.

At the monument their were many sculptures of Qauid e azam , Fatima ali Jinnah,

liaquat khan, Gandhi, tipu sultan, Muhammad bin Qasim, sultan Mahmood Ghaznavi, Allama

iqbal.

Their were placed pictures of Ashfaq ahmed, and many other poets. Their ware

placed many pictures of Pakistan movement and different things of use that were under the

use of allama iqbal and quaid e azam

Virsa Museum

After Pakistan museum, we returned to virsa museum.we reached at

the museum at 4:00 pm. Entrance for the students was free on Friday. So the students ware

very happy to know that!!!

Virsa museum is the true representation of Pakistani culture. their were many

statues representing the living cultures of many areas of Pakistan. Few of them were sindhi,

Punjabi, balochi, tibbetian, beltistani, kalash, moen jo daru, hrappa etc.

Outside the virsa museum, their was a monkey who was the center of enjoyment for

the students. The enjoyed a lot with that monkey.

BLUE Area

After visiting all above places our last destination was Blue area Islamabad. At

Blue Area, we went to SAVOUR to eat lunch.

After lunch, one bus were reserved for day scholars and one for the hostelloids. All

the students were looking very happy and they enjoyed a lot because this trip was their last

trip for their university student life ……!!!

Special thanks…At the end I am very thankful to the university administration and specially our course

teacher MADAM NAILA MAQSOOD for arranging such a great tour for us…..!!!
