Visiting ARA
Darling Quarter Theatre
Based on the book by Mem Fox & Julie Vivas
‘Possum Magic’ is a book written by Mem Fox.
The illustrations were drawn by Julie Vivas.
This is a picture of the book.
‘Possum Magic’ is also a theatre show that will be performed at the ARA Darling Quarter Theatre.
This is also where the Monkey Baa Theatre Company offices are.

When you arrive, your teacher or parent will pick up tickets at our Box Office. The Box Office is located right at the entrance of our foyer.

Before the show starts you might need to wait in the foyer of the theatre.

When you arrive at the theatre, you can use the bathrooms. They are located on the left hand side of the foyer, past the Box Office.

When you have received your ticket, the ushers will open doors to let you into the theatre. Your ticket will tell the usher where you are sitting
using letters and numbers!

The show you will be watching is called ‘Possum Magic’ . This is a theatre show with real people who are wearing costumes
and pretending to be animals and other characters.

This is Sarah Greenwood. Sarah is the actor who plays a young possum called Hush.
Sarah is pictured above in her costumes.
This is Claudette Clarke. Claudette is the actor who plays an old possum called Grandma Poss.
Claudette is pictured above in her costume.
This is Alex Packard. Alex will pretend to be lots of different characters including a wombat, shop assistant, cinema patron, scone maker and an ice-cream vendor!
This is Michael Yore. Michael will pretend to be lots of different characters including an emu, a snake, cinema patron, scone maker, chef and kid!
The show uses puppets, costumes, lights, sounds, music, video animations and magician’s tricks to tell the story
in a way that makes it seem real.
