If you were dividing a continent you had not studied into cultural

regions, you would use the following criteria: traditions, governments, and religions.

The Latin American Integration Association (LAIA) is one of

South America's strongest trade associations urging a common

market.

Numerous forests in Brazil make the logging industry possible.

These factors reflect a group’s value system: music,

architecture, and folklore.

The early cultural influences on South America from Spain and

Portugal were: religion, architecture, and language.

Brazil’s climate is very hot and humid because of its latitude

and nearness to water.

The southern part of South America has seasons opposite

to those in Texas.

Political control is not one of the goals of the Organization of

American States (OAS).

A group with a strict tradition of obeying family elders would

likely be shocked by the lack of respect for authority upon

seeing how the media portrays American teenagers.

Two of the greatest influences on the early development of

South America were conquest and colonization.

A Mulatto is a person who has one Negro parent and one white parent.

A Mestizo is a person who has one Spanish American parent and one American Indian parent.

Therefore, Mestizo : European/American Indian :: Mulatto : African/European

Geography accounts for Peru’s population density.

The Panama Canal, the Amazon River mouth, and the Pan American Highway are all

considered major transportation corridors for trade to Latin

America and South America.
