Why do we organise activities

• Activities for Blind people were traditionally a bit “ gentle” . Metro was set up by some VI people in 1973, who wanted a challenge.

• Some sports need to be adapted especially ball sports. Many other sports can be done, but difficult to compete with sighted people.

• Team sports require organisation – demographics mean that there may be considerable travelling involved.

• Tournaments or competitions allow VI people to compete on equal terms with other VI people
