hat is our mission, our ambition: to give people hope, to build new prospects, to make a long-term responsible commitment. And we want to tell every employee, every stakeholder and every partner of the Societe Generale Foundation: the future is you. You further our commitment every day through each involvement in a solidarity action you accomplish.

We have chosen to focus our attention on integration, whether through education, employment, training, culture or sport. It is a genuine source of social innovation. It is also a powerful driver for each person to find their place in our society. €3,500,000 donated, 71 projects supported, 18,700 employees involved in our solidarity actions... in 2018 and since the creation of the Foundation, our promises have been backed up by

our actions, demonstrating the strength of our convictions and the consistency of our commitments.

In France and elsewhere, we choose to support local projects where the solutions respond to identified needs in a quantifiable manner. That is for instance the goal of the Societe Generale Foundation’s activities in Africa. The most relevant initiatives have been prioritised from the outset: integration through employment, and support to develop the industries of the future.

To all our partners, wherever they are located, we hope to offer the means for sustainable development and for a positive impact. The Foundation reflects the confidence Societe Generale holds in the future. And this 2018 report underlines our optimism and our determination to act.

Societe Generale is committed to solidarity worldwide, and each day it unites its teams and customers around its four key values:

TEAM SPIRIT, INNOVATION, RESPONSIBILITY, COMMITMENT

Corporate philanthropy projects are mainly implemented through the Societe Generale Corporate Foundation, which supports actions in favour of professional integration and integration through education in the countries where the

Group operates. Other local Societe Generale solidarity structures in several of these countries support associations working towards integration. They involve employees and forge a link by responding to the local needs of the beneficiaries involved. The Foundation very often supplements these structures’ financial contributions to organisations that have already received support. This system helps create synergies and genuine consistency in terms of the Group’s corporate solidarity activities.

PROFESSIONAL INTEGRATIONThe Foundation supports structures which help vulnerable people find a job, allow them to access employment support projects or Integration Project Workshops, guide them professionally, support them during their entrepreneurial journey or provide them with the needed tools to overcome obstacles to employment. By encouraging employment as a means of inclusion, the Foundation and its partner associations offer long-term and successful integration.

INTEGRATION THROUGH EDUCATION The Foundation also focuses on integration through education, mostly for young people. Support is vital to allow young people in a vulnerable situation to integrate and to thrive. The Foundation supports associations whose diverse actions meet the different needs of the beneficiaries: educational projects using sport and cultural activities to encourage integration, access to training, to courses leading to diplomas in hiring sectors, preventing school drop-out, workplace visits, mentoring…

EMPLOYEE COMMITMENT EMPLOYEE COMMITMENT

To allow each employee to get involved in solidarity activities during working hours, the Societe Generale Corporate Foundation offers a variety of ways to do so. Whether it is sharing their skills, mentoring a person in need through their education or their career, helping an NGO solve a problem or taking part in collective charity events, each person can get involved to the extent they wish to participate and through the format they prefer.

It is a useful and beneficial way to share their expertise and skills. And for many, it’s their first experience of solidarity and citizen commitment.

3 QUESTIONS FOR...YVON SAVI, BOARD MEMBER AND VOLUNTEER EMPLOYEE WITHIN THE FINANCIAL EDUCATION PROGRAM

WHY DID YOUDECIDE TO GET INVOLVEDIN THIS PROJECT?Finding out that young people are unsure about budget management encouraged me to take part in thefinancial educationinitiatives. I was concernedas a parent, banker andcitizen. People are often thrown in the deep endwhen it comes to money, income and expenses, often leading to complicationsand unpleasant surprises, which a little shared educationcould help avoid. The offerto help out personallywas handed to us on a plate,it was so easy to get involved.

HOW DID YOU FEEL TEACHING YOUNG PEOPLE ABOUT YOUR JOB AND SOCIETE GENERALE?It was rewarding on three levels: the interpersonal and human side of the bank as an intermediary, providing advice and services - the economy and society by sharing knowledge and experience between consumers, employees or entrepreneurs, andbeing able to listen toyoung people regarding their questions, misunderstandings, or even provocations, all important lessons for a banker (the humour and lively events are refreshing and useful to develop further in our careers).

WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TO OTHER EMPLOYEES TOCONVINCE THEM TOGET INVOLVED?Get ready to experiencesome incredible moments:go and meet young people !And you won’t be the same when coming back to the office, as you will be able to tell your team how these workshops in the field hada profound effect on you. Don’t hold back, the training is easy, the process is simple and the results are really positive.

a person in difficulty or a person excludedfrom the job market with their education, their career or their job search, by sharing their experience and tips.

PART-TIME FOR THE OVER-FIFTIES

For those who have at least 10 years of experience and who are close to retirement, Societe Generale offers them the possibility to work part-time at an NGO. These senior employees remain group employees, whilst sharing their experience and expertise with charitable structures.

STANDING TOGETHER,BUILDING TEAM SPIRIT Teams can also get involved in charitable initiatives. Whether it is during a whole day or for a few hours, employees can join forces and help an association with a very specific requirement, whether it is logistics, events or manual activities, combining team building, solidarity and team spirit.

“I support young people who have fallen out of the education system. I am aware of the impact that these few hours can have. Both for them and for us. By supporting vulnerable young people, you learn more about these difficulties which few people see but which are happening right under our noses.”JUAN-MANUEL BURGOS

CITIZEN COMMITMENT TIME,GIVING OUR VERY BEST FORTHE BEST CAUSES

Each year, in any country where Societe Generaleoperates, Citizen Commitment Time is a key solidarity event for the Group. This major Group event gives employees worldwide the opportunity to give both their time and energy tosolidarity. Sports challenges, donations, funactivities… commitment is celebrated and encouraged.

TRAIN THE YOUNGSTERS IN FINANCIAL EDUCATION, HELPTHEM BUILD A BETTER FUTURE

Getting committed for solidarity as a banker also means protecting your future clients from risky situations. To grasp this essential responsibility,

different entities of the Group have implemented financial education tools for young people and adults. In France, more than 400 employees have been involved in the financial education project initiated by Societe Generale in collaboration with CRESUS in 2013. Since then, 4,000 youngsters have been taught the basic concepts of budget management in a fun way.

“A great adventure, you reallyfeel like you have been useful, having spent a wonderful day sharing with lots of energy.”PRISCILLA MARIAPRAGASSAM

“I mentored a young Sudanese banker and refugee in France. The support structure is great. It helps demystify what it means to be a refugee. It reallyhad a profound effect on me after witnessing their resilience.”MARIE-HÉLÈNE D’AMBROSIO

2018 OVERVIEW

Its over twelve years of existence and of supporting associations has helped the Societe Generale Corporate Foundation develop special links with certain structures. Together, they have created a common history over time, underpinned by their shared values. The Foundation has decided to grant them a special status: “Major Partner”. A dedicated budget planned over several years, charitable events, awareness-raising events with Societe Generale employees...

Five associations, acting in very different sectors of the integration spectrum, now benefit from this status: Apprentis d'Auteuil, Ares, CARE, Sport dans la Ville and Emmaüs Défi.

12 SOCIETE GENREALE CORPORATE FOUNDATION 132018 IDENTITY CARD

“Nobody is unemployable!” That’s the beliefand goal of Ares, which worksto integrate the most excluded in society. The association trains over 850 people peryear, by helping them uncover and develop theirabilities, projects and talents.

In 2018, Ares underwent a significant digitaltransition, a necessary stage in social andprofessional integration. Until 2020, the processwill focus on three aspects: digital education of employees, digital innovation in production

activities, and finally the digitalisation of social support. Some of the highlights of the Ares group’s digitalisation include the deployment of innovative and adapted “picking” software, making it easier to prepare orders at theLog’Ins warehouse.

“We are the first in Europe to use an innovative smartphone in a plastic cradle which enables us to use it on the move in the warehouse. We have deployed an internal messaging service so that managers and operators can talk quickly and easily.”CAROLE CUILLIER, ARES DIRECTOR OF DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION

OUR PROGRAM IN AFRICA

ASSOCIATION: SIMPLON

SENEGAL, IVORY COAST, MOROCCO, TUNISIA

AREA: PROFESSIONAL INTEGRATION

AMOUNT: €150,000

Since 2013, in its 45 factories located in France and worldwide, Simplon has offered free training in digital professions to people excluded from the job market. This professional reconversion only has one condition: being very motivated, in order to follow an eight-month intensive training. Thanks to the 100% hands-on methodology, 80% of trained beneficiaries find a job in the following six months.

Following an initial support in 2017 to open its factory in Senegal, Simplon became a priority partner of the Foundation for Africa in 2018. The objective? Help organise the digital services in Africa by opening factories, venues which offer free training in digital professions. Factories opened in 2018 in Ivory Coast and in Tunisia. This development is characterised by a close-knit network of projects and local authorities in charge of education and vocational training.

“There is an imbalance between the training offer and business requirements in Africa. We create training and job opportunities for young people and we offer support to businesses for their digitalisation.”BOUNA KANE, DIRECTOR OF SIMPLON AFRICA

Societe Generale operates in 19 countries in Africa and is asserting its drive for development on the continent. In line with the group’s strategic plan “Transform to Grow”, the Foundation supports local initiatives targeting education, access to training, skills development linked to the industries of the future and professional integration. In order to direct resources depending on the specific needs of each country, the Foundation relies on local subsidiaries to identify the most relevant topics. Our program in Africa is notably deployed with 3 priority charity partners: Simplon, Care and Terres en Mêlées.
