Miss Bertha E. Shamberg, of Web­ ster Avenue, has returned home after a five weeks' stay with relatives and friends in the East.

Mrs. L. Edelstein has returned home from a trip to Mt. Clemens, Mich., and Toledo, Ohio.

Mr. and Mrs. Carl Kingsbacher and Mrs. Joseph H. Marks, of Forbes Street, left for an eastern motor trip.

Miss Jeannette Herman was honor guest at a surprise birthday party given by her friends at her home, Mil­ waukee Street, last Sunday evening. Covers were laid for twenty. Music was furnished by Mr. Strauh at the piano and Messrs. Silverstein and Schwartz on the violin.

Mrs. Simon Levy, of Knoxville, Tenn., and Mrs. Simon Matheis, of Darlington Road, left for a motor trip with their brother, Mr. Louis Ochs, of Washington, Pa.

Mrs. Charles Fishkin and family, of Tarentum, Pa., have returned home from an Eastern trip.

Mrs. Leo Ferber and daughter, Alice, of Chislett Street, have returned home from a three weeks' stay at Cambridge Springs, Pa. A surprise dinner party was tendered Mr. and Mrs. Ferber by a number of their friends, in honor of their fourteenth wedding anniversary- Covers were laid for twenty-four, and flowers were used in the decorations. Mr. and Mrs. Ferber left Wednesday of this week for an extended Eastern trip.

Miss Anna Laufe, of Highview Street, left for an extended trip to Atlantic City, New York and Arverne, Long Island.

Mr. Leo A. Levy, of Senior Class of Harvard College, has been rr.v: I'cled an honorary scholarship cariying with it a stipend of two hundred p/M fifty dollars for scholastic excellence achieved during the preceding year. Mr. Levy is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Levy, of North St. Clair Street, this city.

The Misses Dorothy Munson of Buf­ falo, N. Y., and Ann Harris of Cleve­ land, Ohio, are the houseguests of Miss Miriam Harris, of Wooster Street.

Miss Fan Silverberg, of Be'levue, has returned home after spending a week with Mr. and Mrs. Nat Sanger and family, of Knoxville, at their cot­ tage at Conneaut Lake.

Miss Ida Donner, of Woodlawn, Pa., has returned home from a visit to Huntington, Mt. Union, and Altoona, Pa. Miss Pauline Poser, of Hunting- ton, Pa., accompanied Miss Donner home.

Mr. Emanuel Amdursky, of Elsinore Square, Oakland, returned home Sun­ day, August 31st, from Harvard Uni­ versity, where he just completed his

first year in the Law School. He will remain here until September 20th.

Mrs. A. Englander, of the Saybrook Apartments, has left for a trip to Philadelphia, New York and Atlantic City.

Mr. A. W. Kaufman, of Lockhart Street, left Friday of last week for a trip to New York.
