An interactive, ‘in the moment’ problem solving and advisory half day session facilitated by Jim Thomas of PDW Group. This will be a session with a difference! This ‘open session’, will be a highly interactive opportunity to tap into both the expertise and experiences of the facilitator, as well as the collective support and advice of fellow delegates. Delegates will all be consulted prior to attending for their ‘top three issues or opportunities’ and these will be collated beforehand and summarised ready for the session. Delegates will also be given a second opportunity at the start of the session to register their ‘biggest issues or opportunities’ for which they are looking for advice, support and new ideas to fix and improve, so as to add into the mix for the session. Jim will employ the facilitated ‘round table’ discussion method to solicit the support of other delegates to properly identify and bring to life each issue, challenge or opportunity, understand its impact or benefit and then work on options to rectify or achieve it. Jim will also use his own significant experience of working many professional services firms, and specifically both partners/business owners, practice managers and employees of all levels and specialisms to help advise and problem solve. Delegates will leave the session with new ideas, suggested approaches and options as well as renewed enthusiasm to improve the performance of the practice for which they work as well as their own performance and wellbeing. The list of issues and opportunities we can focus on is almost limitless and can be both output or input related and can include: Strategic thinking, overall market strategy Business planning and forecasting Marketing the practice including digital and social media strategy Improving employee engagement and the obvious benefits of doing so Attracting new talent and generally staffing & resourcing the organisation Designing & implementing new policies & procedures, including implementing/managing change Improving core financial measures such as %recovery, WIP & debtor management, etc. Sourcing and implementing new systems Converting and winning new business Measuring business performance more effectively Reward mechanisms for people/employees Obtaining high quality client feedback and action on it Creating high performing teams across the partnership or the business Or literally any issue, challenge or opportunity being encountered as part of running or working in a professional services practice.
