Head of the Alma College softball programsince 1989, Denny Grifn has quickly built theScots into a national contender. In Dennys 25

years at the helm of the Scots, he has tallied anoverall record of 761-265, which ranks him thefth Winningest Division III Coach All-timeand 16th among Winningest Coaches All-time atan NCAA school by percentage. His teams havenever nished lower than third in the conferencestandings and have won 13 MIAA titles.Additionally, 17 of his last 20 teams have qualiedfor the NCAA tournament.

campphilosophyThis camp develops the players fundamentalskills in the game of softball. Lectures, drill workand games will help the player in individualdevelopment of throwing, catching, batting andrunning. The ultimate goal of the camp is to havefun while playing fast pitch softball.

Phil Hansen is in his 20th year with Alma Collegeas an assistant softball coach. He is the downtowndevelopment/economic development director for

the City of St. Louis.

Brandee West is in her 13th year as head juniorvarsity coach. She graduated from Alma Collegein 2000. She garnered All-American honorsher senior year and was the conference batting

champion her junior and senior seasons.

Mike Doran joined the staff of the Alma Collegesoftball program in 2007. Prior to this, Dorancoached 31 successful seasons at the high schoollevel at Ithaca (Mich.) and East Lee Co. (Fla). In2002, he was named the assistant coach of the year

in Michigan and was inducted into the MichiganHigh School Football Coaches Hall of Fame in2003.

Alma College softball players will also be helping

with the camp.
