Select “Next: Configure Instance Details,” which is located on the lower right.

Follow this easy, step-by-step checklist to set up a SoftNAS instance on AWS.

New AWS user? Create a free account.1

Under “Additional Information” on the right side, select the “Getting Started Guide.” It will guide you through the process of setting up an Amazon EC2 Linux instance.

From the EC2 Console, select “Launch Instance” located under the “Create Instance” section.4

Under Quick Start on the left, select AWS Marketplace and enter “SoftNAS” in the search. Select the SoftNAS Cloud product edition you want to test.

Configure Security Group is automatically configured for SSH and HTTPS which SoftNAS Cloud uses. Select “Review and Launch” to proceed to the final step.

Congratulations, you have now created a SoftNAS Cloud Edition running on AWS. Once the Instance has completed the creation process and displays 2/2, you can access it in a web browser. Locate the IP address for the Instance copy. The initial password will be the Instance ID and can be found on the same page as the IP Address. Open a browser tab and enter “https://{your_Instance_IPaddress}.

You are now ready to start your SoftNAS Cloud Edition free trial.

To log in, use the username “SoftNAS” and the initial password Instance ID. Once logged in, follow the “Getting Started Checklist” in the StorageCenter UI.

Add Tags is an optional step that helps locate a specific created instance from the EC2 Console. Select “Next: Configure Security Group” to proceed.

8Configure instance details. If necessary, set up your network to use the trial. Change IAM role to SoftNAS_DISK_IAM for the free trial.

You may need to change additional settings for the free trial, which will depend upon your unique project.

Select “Next: Add Storage.” You can use default settings. Select “Next: Add Tags.”

9 Review Instance Launch. Select “Launch” to proceed to the final step.

The final step is to assign a key pair to use. If you create a new Key Pair, make sure you download and retain it.

Select Launch Instances to begin the creation process.
