Add this Addendum to the front of your ventilator Operator's Manual
The new software version 1.10x for the HAMILTON-H900 humidifier offers a newhumidifier mode, HiFlow, for use with high flow oxygen therapy.
On the HAMILTON-C6/G5/S1 ventilators, however, the HiFlow humidifier mode is notavailable. This Addendum describes how to use high flow oxygen therapy when usingthe ventilator together with a HAMILTON-H900 operating with software v1.10x.
For details about general ventilator and humidifier operation, see your ventilatorOperator's Manual and the HAMILTON-H900 Instructions for use.
1 Working with theHAMILTON-H900 humidifier
Using the HAMILTON-H900 humidifierwith the HAMILTON-C6/G5/S1 ventilatorsprovides remote access to humidifiercontrols and status directly from the venti-lator display.
2 About humidifier operatingmodes
The HAMILTON-H900 offers the followingoperating modes: Invasive (INV), Noninva-sive (NIV), and High flow oxygen therapy(HiFlow).
On the HAMILTON-C6/G5/S1 ventilators,you can set the humidifier operating modeto either Invasive or Noninvasive. TheHiFlow humidifier mode is not available onthe ventilator.
When high flow oxygen therapy is selectedon the ventilator1, the humidifier is auto-matically set to Invasive (INV) mode. Toswitch the humidifier to HiFlow mode, seeSection 3.
3 Working with high flowoxygen therapy
With the introduction of HiFlow mode onthe HAMILTON-H900 humidifier, you canfine-tune the humidity levels to be deliv-ered to the patient. For details about thehumidifier controls, see Table 1.
When high flow oxygen therapy is selectedon the ventilator, you can choose to oper-ate the humidifier as follows:
• Manually set the humidifier to HiFlowmode using the controls on theHAMILTON-H900
• Continue humidifier operation usingthe automatically set Invasive mode

About the humidifier controls in HiFlow mode

To operate both the ventilator and humidi-fier using high flow oxygen therapy
1. In the Modes window on the ventila-tor, select high flow oxygen therapy.1
The humidifier is automatically set toInvasive mode.
2. On the humidifier, press (Modes)until HiFlow is shown on the humidi-fier display.
Note that, while the ventilator and thehumidifier are both providing high flowoxygen, the Humidifier window display onthe ventilator shows Invasive as the activehumidification mode (not HiFlow).
Changing to an invasive mode from highflow oxygen therapy
1. In the Modes window on the ventila-tor, select the desired invasive ventila-tion mode (for example, ASV), review,and if needed, adjust the controlsettings, and touch Confirm.
The ventilator switches to the selectedmode.
2. On the humidifier, press (Modes)until INV (Invasive) is shown on thehumidifier display.
4 About the humidifiercontrols in HiFlow mode
In HiFlow mode, the control parameterranges and default settings are as follows.

4.1 Adjusting the chamber exittemperature in HiFlow mode
You can adjust the Chamber exit tempera-ture on the HAMILTON-H900, or by usingthe Set temp control on the ventilator.
Note that the Chamber exit temperaturecontrol in HiFlow mode is set with a reso-lution of 1°C, and therefore must be setto a whole number (Table 1).

1. In the System > Humidifier window onthe ventilator, adjust the Set tempcontrol as desired.
The setting can be adjusted with a res-olution of 0.5°C; however, not allsettings are supported by the humidi-fier.
2. Confirm the setting.
The changes are applied immediately. Ifrequired, the setting is rounded up to thenearest allowed setting.

For example, if you set the Set temp onthe ventilator to 36.5°C, upon confirma-tion, the setting is adjusted to 37°C.
4.2 Adjusting the temperature gradi-ent in HiFlow mode
When the humidifier is operating in HiFlowmode, the Temperature gradient (T gradi-ent) cannot be adjusted and is always 2°C(unless it is changed in the humidifier Con-figuration).
If you adjust the setting on the ventilatorto another value, it is automatically set tothe value defined by the humidifier.
You can set the default Temperature gradi-ent to use in HiFlow mode in the humidi-fier Configuration. For details, see theHAMILTON-H900 Instructions for use.

1 Arbeiten mit dem HAMIL-TON-H900 Befeuchter
Wenn der HAMILTON-H900 Befeuchterzusammen mit den BeatmungsgerätenHAMILTON-C6/G5/S1 eingesetzt wird,kann direkt vom Bildschirm des Beat-mungsgerätes aus auf die Parameter undStatusanzeigen des Befeuchters zugegrif-fen werden.
2 Informationen zu denBetriebsmodi des Befeuchters
Der HAMILTON-H900 bietet die folgendenBetriebsmodi: invasiver Modus (INV),nichtinvasiver Modus (NIV) und High-FlowSauerstofftherapie (HiFlow).
Auf den Beatmungsgeräten HAMILTON-C6/G5/S1 können Sie den Betriebsmodusdes Befeuchters entweder auf Invasiv oder
Nichtinvasiv einstellen. Der Befeuchtungs-modus HiFlow steht auf dem Beatmungs-gerät nicht zur Verfügung.
Wird auf dem Beatmungsgerät die High-Flow Sauerstofftherapie ausgewählt2, wirdauf dem Befeuchter automatisch der inva-sive Modus (INV) eingestellt. Informatio-nen, wie Sie auf den Modus HiFlowumschalten, finden Sie in Abschnitt 3.
3 Arbeiten mit der High-FlowSauerstofftherapie
Der neue Modus HiFlow auf dem HAMIL-TON-H900 Befeuchter ermöglicht es Ihnen,die Feuchtigkeitswerte genau einzustellen,die dem Patienten verabreicht werden.Detaillierte Informationen zu den Befeuch-terparametern finden Sie in Tabelle 1.

Wenn die High-Flow Sauerstofftherapieauf dem Beatmungsgerät ausgewähltwird, haben Sie zwei Optionen für denBefeuchterbetrieb:
• Stellen Sie den Modus HiFlow manuellmithilfe der Parameter am HAMILTON-H900 Befeuchter ein.
• Setzen Sie den Befeuchterbetrieb imautomatisch eingestellten Modus Inva-siv fort.
So stellen Sie sowohl am Beatmungsgerätals auch am Befeuchter den Modus für dieHigh-Flow Sauerstofftherapie ein:
1. Wählen Sie im Fenster Modus amBeatmungsgerät die High-Flow Sauer-stofftherapie.2
Der Befeuchter wechselt automatischin den Modus Invasiv.
2. Halten Sie am Befeuchter die Taste
(Modi) gedrückt, bis der ModusHiFlow auf dem Befeuchterbildschirmangezeigt wird.
Beachten Sie Folgendes: Das Beatmungs-gerät und der Befeuchter liefern zwarbeide High-Flow Sauerstoff, im FensterBefeuchter am Beatmungsgerät wird aberals aktiver Befeuchtungsmodus Invasiv(und nicht HiFlow) angezeigt.
Umschalten von der High-Flow Sauerstoff-therapie auf einen invasiven Modus
1. Wählen Sie im Fenster Modus amBeatmungsgerät den gewünschteninvasiven Beatmungsmodus (z. B.ASV), prüfen Sie die Parametereinstel-lungen, passen Sie sie ggf. an undberühren Sie Bestätigen.
Das Beatmungsgerät schaltet auf dengewählten Modus um.
2. Halten Sie am Befeuchter die Taste
(Modi) gedrückt, bis der ModusINV (invasiv) auf dem Befeuchterbild-schirm angezeigt wird.

4.1 Anpassen der Temperatur amKammerausgang im Modus „HiFlow“
Sie können die Temperatur am Kammer-ausgang am HAMILTON-H900 anpassenoder dazu den Parameter Temperatur amBeatmungsgerät verwenden.
Beachten Sie, dass die Einstellung für denParameter Temperatur am Kammerausgangim Modus HiFlow in Schritten von 1 °Cangepasst wird. Daher muss der Parame-ter auf eine ganze Zahl eingestellt werden(Tabelle 1).

Ändern der Temperatur am Kammeraus-gang über das Beatmungsgerät
1. Passen Sie den Parameter Temperaturnach Bedarf im Fenster System >Befeuchter auf dem Beatmungsgerätan.
Die Einstellung kann in Schritten von0,5 °C angepasst werden; allerdingswerden nicht alle Einstellungen aufdem Befeuchter unterstützt.
2. Bestätigen Sie die Einstellung.
Die Änderungen werden sofort übernom-men. Ggf. wird die Einstellung auf dienächste zulässige Einstellung aufgerundet.
Wenn Sie beispielsweise am Beatmungs-gerät für den Parameter Temperatur eineEinstellung von 36,5 °C wählen, wird dieEinstellung nach dem Bestätigen auf 37 °Ckorrigiert.
4.2 Anpassen des Temperaturgradi-enten im Modus „HiFlow“
Wenn am Befeuchter der Modus HiFloweingestellt ist, kann der Temperaturgradi-ent (T.-Gradient) nicht angepasst werdenund ist immer auf 2 °C eingestellt (soferndie Einstellung nicht in der Konfigurationdes Befeuchters geändert wird).
Wenn Sie für diese Einstellung auf demBeatmungsgerät einen anderen Wertwählen, wird sie automatisch auf den vomBefeuchter festgelegten Wert gesetzt.
Sie können die Standardeinstellung fürden Temperaturgradienten im ModusHiFlow in der Konfiguration des Befeuch-ters festlegen. Detaillierte Informationendazu finden Sie in der Gebrauchsanwei-sung zum HAMILTON-H900.

1 Trabajo con el humidificadorHAMILTON-H900
El empleo del humidificador HAMILTON-H900 con los respiradores HAMILTON-C6/G5/S1 ofrece acceso remoto a los contro-les y al estado del humidificador directa-mente desde la pantalla del respirador.
2 Acerca de los modos de fun-cionamiento del humidificador
El HAMILTON-H900 ofrece los siguientesmodos de funcionamiento: invasivo (INV),no invasivo (NIV) y terapia con flujo alto deoxígeno (HiFlow).
En los respiradores HAMILTON-C6/G5/S1,puede definir el modo de funcionamientodel humidificador como Invasivo o No inva-sivo. El modo de humidificación HiFlow noestá disponible en el respirador.
Si se selecciona la terapia con flujo alto deoxígeno en el respirador3, el humidificadorse establece automáticamente en el modoInvasivo (INV). Para cambiar el humi-dificador al modo HiFlow, consulte la sec-ción 3.
3 Trabajo con la terapia conflujo alto de oxígeno

Tenga presente que, aunque tanto el res-pirador como el humidificador proporcio-nan terapia con flujo alto de oxígeno, enla ventana Humidificador del respirador semostrará Invasivo como modo de humidifi-cación activo (y no, HiFlow).

4.1 Ajuste de la temperatura en lasalida de la cámara en modo HiFlow
Puede ajustar el valor de Temperatura en lasalida de la cámara en el HAMILTON-H900o a través del control Ajuste temp. del res-pirador.
Tenga en cuenta que el control Tempera-tura en la salida de la cámara del modoHiFlow se define a intervalos de 1 °C y, porlo tanto, debe indicarse como un númeroentero (tabla 1).

Cambio de la temperatura en la salida de lacámara desde el respirador
1. En la ventana Sistema > Humidificadordel respirador, defina el control Ajustetemp. según desee.
El ajuste se puede definir a intervalosde 0,5 °C; no obstante, no todos losvalores son compatibles con el humi-dificador.
2. Confirme los ajustes.
Los cambios se aplican inmediatamente. Sifuera necesario, el ajuste se redondea alajuste permitido más próximo.
Por ejemplo, si ha definido Ajuste temp. enel respirador a 36,5 °C, este valor se ajus-tará a 37 °C al confirmarlo.
4.2 Ajuste del gradiente de tempera-tura en el modo HiFlow
Cuando el humidificador funciona enmodo HiFlow, no se puede ajustar el Gra-diente de temperatura (Gradiente T) y siem-pre tendrá el valor 2 °C (a no ser que semodifique en la Configuración del humi-dificador).
Si define el ajuste del respirador con otrovalor, se establece automáticamente conel valor definido por el humidificador.
Puede definir el Gradiente de temperaturapredeterminado que se empleará en elmodo HiFlow en la Configuración del humi-dificador. Si desea obtener informacióndetallada, consulte las instrucciones deuso del humidificador HAMILTON-H900.

4.2 在 HiFlow 模式下调节温度梯度

Однако аппараты ИВЛ HAMILTON-C6/G5/S1 не поддерживают режим увлажненияHiFlow. В этом Дополнении описана процедура кислородной терапии с высокойскоростью потока при одновременном использовании аппарата ИВЛ и увлажни-теля HAMILTON-H900 (версия программного обеспечения 1.10x).

1 Использование увлажни-теля HAMILTON-H900
Использование увлажнителяHAMILTON-H900 вместе с аппаратамиИВЛ HAMILTON-C6/G5/S1 открываетвозможность удаленного доступа кпараметрам и статусу увлажнителянапрямую с дисплея аппарата ИВЛ.
2 Рабочие режимы увлаж-нителяРабочие режимы, доступные в увлаж-нителе HAMILTON-H900: инвазивный(INV), неинвазивный (NIV), а также кис-лородная терапия с высокой скоро-стью потока (HiFlow).
С помощью аппаратов ИВЛ HAMILTON-C6/G5/S1 можно выставить следующиерабочие режимы увлажнителя: инва-зивный или неинвазивный. АппаратИВЛ не поддерживает режим увлажне-ния HiFlow.
Если на панели управления аппаратомИВЛ выбрать опцию кислороднойтерапии с высокой скоростью9, увлаж-нитель автоматически переключаетсяв инвазивный (INV) режим. Информа-ция о том, как перевести увлажнительв режим HiFlow, приведена в раз-деле 3.

1. В окне «Режимы» на панели управ-ления аппаратом ИВЛ выберитекислородную терапию с высокойскоростью.9
Увлажнитель по умолчаниювыставлен в инвазивный режим.
2. На панели управления увлажни-
теля зажмите («Режимы»),пока на его экране не отобразится«HiFlow».
Обратите внимание, что хотя и аппа-рат ИВЛ, и увлажнитель обеспечи-вают подачу кислорода с высокой ско-ростью потока, в окне «Увлажнитель»на экране аппарата ИВЛ в качествеактивного режима увлажнения указы-вается «Инвазивный», а не «HiFlow».

1. В окне «Режимы» на экране аппа-рата ИВЛ выберите нужный режиминвазивной вентиляции (например,ASV). Просмотрите контролируе-мые параметры и при необходимо-сти внесите в них изменения,затем нажмите «Подтвердить».
Аппарат ИВЛ перейдет в выбран-ный режим.
2. На панели управления увлажни-
теля зажмите («Режимы»),пока на его экране не отобразится«INV» (инвазивный).
4 Параметры увлажнителяв режиме HiFlow

4.1 Настройка температуры навыходе из камеры в режиме HiFlow
Вы можете настроить параметр «Тем-пература на выходе из камеры» наHAMILTON-H900 или воспользоватьсяпараметром «Установл. темп.» нааппарате ИВЛ.
Обратите внимание, что параметр«Температура на выходе из камеры» врежиме HiFlow выставлен с интерва-лом в 1 °C, поэтому вводите целыечисла (таблица 1).

Регулировка температуры на выходе изкамеры с панели управления аппаратомИВЛ
1. На дисплее аппарата ИВЛ в окне «Система» > «Увлажнитель»
настройте желаемое значение «Установл. темп.».Значения можно выбирать с интервалом 0,5 °C; однако увлаж-нитель поддерживает не все зна-чения.
2. Подтвердите значение.
Изменения применяются сразу. Принеобходимости значение округляетсядо ближайшего допустимого.
К примеру, если на аппарате ИВЛвыставить «Установл. темп.» на36,5 °C, то после подтверждения зна-чение изменится на 37 °C.
4.2 Настройка температурногоградиента в режиме HiFlow
Когда увлажнитель работает в режимеHiFlow, температурный градиент («Гра-диент T») всегда выставлен на 2 °C, иизменить это можно только в настрой-ках «Конфигурации» увлажнителя.
Если вы выставите на аппарате ИВЛдругое значение, оно автоматическипереключится установленное в увлаж-нителе.
Вы можете изменить температурныйградиент в режиме HiFlow в «Конфигу-рации» увлажнителя. Подробные све-дения приведены в Инструкциях поэксплуатации увлажнителя HAMILTON-H900.
