Human ingenuity is a way to measure matter.

Humans have invented a way to measure matter, can you name them?

What are they?The three states of matter- Solid, Liquid, and Gas.

Solids, Liquids, and Gases have DIFFERENT PROPERTIES.

A property of a substance is just HOW IT BEHAVES

SolidsSolids have a firm volume. They are held closely in fixed positionsSolids have a firm shapeSolids are not easily squashedSolids don’t flow

LiquidsLiquids match the shape of a container

Liquids flow easily

Liquids are not easily squashed

Liquid particles are close together but they can move.

GasesGases have no firm volume because they fill the space they’re in

We can not live without gases

Gases become the same shape as the container

Gases are easily squashed

Gases flow easily
