:-Some people think that criminals should stay in prison, however, other think that they need medical and psychological assistance for their reformation when they are in prison, what is your opinion? Answer:-People commit crimes due to various lessons. No one is a born criminal, situations force a person to commit crimes, especially in a country like India where the basic needs of the poor are not met by the government. Frustrated individuals get motivated to do something illegal for their survival. It is very correct to punish those who break laws and cause loss to others by way of committing crimes. The court gives a harsh judgment to such individuals who definitely deserve to be put behind bars. It is often felt that by isolating a criminal, he / she learns a lesson and will not repeat his / her mistakes. This is the general opinion of the court and the people. In my view, criminals if subjected to isolation in prison will become more aggressive. They don’t like to live or they won’t be able to find a reason to live a good life when they come out. For example, thieves and murderers have repeated the crime even after being sent to jail. A criminal is to be first treated as a human being a person and should be given a chance to live a life after he is released. Crimes can be committed by anybody. They therefore should be taken care of. All kinds of medical assistance as well as psychological help are to be extended to these victims of situations or circumstances. Since both physical health and medical health are of great importance to a person, the jail authorities should work in this direction. People in jail should get medical attention for their ailments. Programs are to be initiated that will help the criminal to get themselves occupied with some useful work. Religious leaders, seers, counselors, social workers are to be appointed for counseling in the prison. They should be assigned
