Spring 2016 Dear Members & family Welcome to our new members and welcome back to those members who have renewed their subs for the year. It looks like an exciting year ahead with lots to look forward to for 2016. We have a new chief instructor Julie Lawson who I am sure will have a great impact on our training, activities and camp. Julie is based at The Mill in Little Broughton and is a successful event rider. We are also working towards bringing Pony Racing as a new discipline for Cleveland members this year and will be focusing on this at our March social night. Any members who may be interested in pony racing please let us know. Looking back to last year we have had lots of success with our members reaching the PC championships in show jumping, games, dressage and eventing in 2015. Hannah Dawson represented Cleveland in the Dengie Winter show jumping championships at the beginning of the year. Our junior games team qualified for the Scotland Zone competitions and then successfully went onto the championships in Cheshire. Our Novice show jumping team after winning at the area competition went on to be 3rd at the championships and Harrison Colling competed individually at the Championships to be 7th in the Intermediate eventing. Our novice dressage team also qualified for the championships with Alice Readman getting a 5th in her arena. We are very proud of these achievements. Later in the year we sent 5 teams to compete at the Country- side Live Show Cross event and the Cleveland ‘Red Devils’ won the competition. Many thanks to our team trainers of 2015 Julie Lawson, Paddy Muir and Rebecca Ward. Camp this year will start mid week due to some schools finishing later and finish on the following Sunday (see calendar). If any parents or family have ideas for activities or skills they can bring into camp we would be happy to hear from them. Also ideas for other events are welcome, we had a very successful Christmas shopping night which was kindly organised by parents. Just to remind you our website is continually updated and you can find dates of events on the home page- http://branches.pcuk.org/cleveland Area dates are also on our website along with any details of training, events, competitions and contacts. Dates are also in the Darlington & Stockton times. Dear Members & family

Welcome to our new members and welcome back to those members who have renewed their subs for the year.

It looks like an exciting year ahead with lots to look forward to for 2016. We have a new chief instructor Julie Lawson who I am sure will have a great impact on our training, activities and camp. A NEW LOOK FOR THE PONY CLUB

The Pony Club has undertaken a review of how it looks, feels and communicates with its members, volunteers and stakeholders, with the results being announced as part of the Pony Club annual conference on March 2nd 2016 at Aintree Racecourse. Harrison:Fraser have undertaken the review on behalf of the Pony Club, who have worked with similar organisations for their expertise in brand management and review. As part of the tried and tested process volunteers and, most importantly, members have given input which has shaped the direction and re-sults.

The brand refresh is a big step forward for the Pony Club, which hasn’t seen a sig-nificant brand review since its inception in 1929; the refreshed brand gives a brighter and cleaner feel whilst denoting the Pony Club’s incredible heritage and the affection it has from those who are involved.
