During the summer months it is good to wear covered cloths to prevent from getting tanned, use good sunscreen and wear hat and sunglasses. One must carry rain gear too as the summer season is also the rainy season in China. From October to March there is chill in the air and one needs to wear warm cloths.

It is best to avoid public holidays especially on May 1-3 and October 1-7 or during weekends when on a tour to Great wall.
