Introduction:

Club4 was started in Feb 2006 by Paco Osuna, Christian Smith, Marco Carola, and Adam Beyer. Each one of them plays once a month and usually invites a guest. The philosophy behind the night is very simple: A rocking thursday party in one of the best scenes in Europe.

This thursday, Club4 celebrates the special Sonar week, so we hope to see you there.

Paco Osuna

Speaking about Paco Osuna is referring to one of the most successful producers and DJs to hail from Spain, so much so that he has forged a very important position within the top ranks of the European dance community as a whole, and it is not easy to summarize his success, but it is possible to derive it from three common denominators: creativity, innovation and evolution.Paco Osuna found interest in music at the age of 14; by the time he was 20 he completed his first track and in 1994 he turned his pasion lll into his profession. His career jump-started when he earned a residency at the legendary club Amnesia in Ibiza, allowing

him to establish himself as an artist to watch, and subsequently joined the roster of the prestigious Cocoon Agency. From this launching point, his own musical creativity was put to the task and he quickly began creating productions for labels such as Serial Killer, Morbid, and Real State, until 2003, when he started his own label, Shake Records, which was when Paco began to formally develop his own unique style.

In 2006, Paco Osuna created his second label, Mindshake, which continues his mission to reach his full potential as an artist. With international contemporaries such as Skoozbot, Ambivalent, Paul Ritch, Matteo Spedicatti and Andrea Ferlin on board, Mindshake began to quickly receive praise and great success attracting attention from the world over. Within his own country, he helped open Club 4, a club with a concept, which has emerged as a foundation of the original Barcelona scene, establishing itself as the choice for variety and accessibility to new musical tendencies. As if this was not enough, Paco Osuna is now intimately linked to Plus 8, with two strong EP releases to date, Crazy and Orbeat, both receiving great success on a global level. This continuous movement has characterized Paco throughout his career, and he has diversified yet again creating a new hybrid DJ/live set, which he has presented internationally in prestigious clubs and events like Awakenings Amsterdam), Fabric (London) and Goa Club (Rome). Thus, his dedication, skill and popularity, have led to several tours around the globe with stops at DEMF (Detroit), WMC (Miami), SAMC (Buenos Aires), and Amore (Rome) to name a few.

Matthew Dear

You could throw around generous descriptors and any number of genre-locking terms – electronic pop, minimal house, acid techno – but you'd still fail to get to the center of Matthew Dear. With releases under no fewer than three aliases, including False (M_NUS), Jabberjaw (Perlon), and Audion (Spectral Sound), the Texas native has earned his international status over the course of a decade, getting his bearings on the DJ decks as a teenager to flooring sold-out crowds at venues like Fabric, and releasing critically acclaimed original productions.

After meeting Ghostly founder Sam Valenti IV at a house party in the late 90s, Dear eventually produced the A-Side for the label's first 12-inch

release, "Hands Up for Detroit." Since then, Dear issued his pop-infused debut album Leave Luck to Heaven and its counterpart Backstroke, which caught mainstream attention, as well as myriad releases under his club-oriented pseudonyms (including the omnipresent, chart-topping "Mouth to Mouth" as Audion).

Further accomplishments include requests from the Postal Service and Hot Chip for his remix skills, incessant touring and constantly evolving DJ sets and live performances. He'll still tell you that his greatest pleasure is a quiet day of fishing, but with the release of his last full-length, the accomplished Asa Breed, it's clear that Dear has no intention of slowing down anytime soon.

Marco Carola

Growing up in the Neapolitan sunshine, by the age of 13 he got behind the skins of his first drum kit which he played for several years before ultimately being addicted to buying and playing records. In 1990, when the Italian House scene was enjoying its golden age alongside the madness of Acid House, Carola`s drum kit was rapidly replaced by a two record player set and a mixer whereupon he practised the art of mixing and learned how to dj to House music's new dancefloor rhythm. His ability to mix music and his emerging studio talent encouraged many artists to record at his studio. Between his many more House oriented releases at this time he even managed to produce a 12" for the highly respected MAW (Masters at Work) imprint.

Carola soon found the creative limitations of recording for other people`s labels too restrictive for his own creative output and in 1996 he set about producing material for a new, dynamic sound destined to be released on his very own label. The label now acts as one of the main lifelines for fresh Techno music from Italy and most notably Naples with new up and coming artists like Gaetek and Random Noize releasing under the Design banner. After Design, Carola founded his 1000 imprint in 1998 in order to produce ultra-fresh DJ music which he could test on his ever expanding international gigging schedule. By 1998, his first Australian tour was under way, swiftly followed by tours of North America where his unique 3 deck, mixing style made him one of the most requested Techno DJs at the time. In January 1998 Marco Carola teamed up with Gadgets mastermind and i220 founder Corrado Izzo and established two new labels in the shape of Zenit and Question as part of the ELP (Electronic Label Pool) umbrella for artists and labels.

3 years of development and networking followed. Since early 2001 Marco Carola lives in London (UK) after a two years break in Frankfurt. In October 2001 Marco showed his vision of contemporary electronic music by releasing his second album “Open System” which received rave reviews from music critis around the world. With its mix of different styles - a combination and fusion of slower material, break-oriented electronical beats, melodical lines, experimental arrangements together with organic sounds and pads - he proves that he is one of Techno music`s true prime movers.
