Sonar Weekly Update October 19, 2017 A Message from the Sisters: “Always United with the Blessed Mother in Christ” Dear Parents, Congratulations to the Roberts family and their wonderful team of helpers for coordinating another “SPOOK-tacular” Trunk or Treat and Movie Night event. It was very well organized and much fun was had by students and adults alike! Thank you for all your time and effort—we can’t wait until next year. This Friday, while the students are enjoying a day off, our teachers will be participating in Diocesan-wide professional learning opportunity focusing on curriculum mapping. We’ll be utilizing experts from within the Diocese, as well as outside consultants to learn research -based instructional strategies and make explicit connections between and among California Common Core Standards and unit design. This is a great opportunity for our teachers and appreciate the partnership with the Diocese. On Monday, our visiting French students will be on Campus. Please welcome Paul, Laure, Vianney and Alienor, who will be with us through December. We thank the NDA host families, the Lary’s, Daley’s, Roberts’ and Newsome’s, for opening their homes and hearts to these students. Merci Beacoup! For Kindergarten through 5th grade conferences : The conference schedules will be emailed to you by your child’s hom- eroom teacher next week Please contact your child’s teacher to make any changes. For Middle School conferences : Parents will be able to sign up for a 15 minute appointment with any, or all of the Middle School Teachers. A Sign-Up Genius link for each conference day will be emailed in the morning on Thursday, 10/26. The sign-up links will be open from noon on 10/26 through 5pm on 11/3. A er 11/3, parents may call the office to sign up for appointments or to make changes .

Unfor-tunately we couldn’t make up the 12-6 hal ime deficit. The final score was 25-6. Our touchdown wasmade by Hudson Wells from a pass by Ian Lamkin. A special recognition to Lucas Cariquitan on his nicecatch and Inigo Gonzalez with his touchdown saving defensive play in the end zone. A big thank you toall the parents and supporters who came out to cheer for the team. The boys gave it their besteffort. Our next game next Monday against St. John’s 5/6 on Monday.10/23 vs. St. John’s @ St. John’s 3:30pm

CROSS COUNTRY TRACK MEETLast Saturday we had several runners participate in the San Diego Catholic Schools Cross Country Meetat Cathedral Catholic. It was a super event and our student athletes put together some greatperformances. Thank you to all the parents who brought your kids out to run!
