12.3-inch color LCD clusterThe N Line-exclusive digital instrument cluster can be easily configured to show one of several driving profiles (Normal, Sport, Sport Plus, and Custom) depending on the driver’s preferences and on road conditions. Each mode features unique and eye-catching graphics. For spirited driving, the performance gauge in the center of the cluster lets the driver easily monitor key parameters, like the engine oil temperature, the engine’s real-time torque output, and the turbocharger’s boost.

Launch ControlThis function makes the SONATA quicker off the line. When accelerating from a standstill, the engine’s torque delivery and the transmission’s operation are optimized to deliver the best possible acceleration and maximum performance.

N Power ShiftWhen the transmission upshifts under heavy acceleration, this function minimizes engine damage by briefly reducing the engine’s torque output and optimizing the oil pressure. It improves the SONATA’s acceleration and gives the driver the sensation of being pinned to the back of the seat for an exhilarating driving experience.

Active Sound DesignRich and dynamic, the N Line’s exhaust note makes the driving experience more immersive.

REVolution MatchingWhen downshifting, this function makes shifts quick and smooth by matching the engine’s RPM to the transmission’s. It gives the SONATA quicker acceleration, even when exiting a corner.

an advanced suite of driver assistance systems that rely on cutting-edge technologies

to keep everyone in the car safe at all times.

Forward Collision-avoidance AssistIf the vehicle in front suddenly slows down, or if the SONATA detects a collision with another object (a car, a pedestrian, a cyclist, etc.) is imminent, a warning message is displayed in the instrument cluster. The driver also receives an audible alert. If the risk of a collision increases after both alarms, the brakes are automatically applied.

02 Blind-spot Collision-avoidance AssistAlerts the driver of the potential for a collision from the rear when the turn signal indicator is switched on for lane changes and helps avoid the collision through differential braking if necessary.

03 Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance AssistMonitors the areas to the left and right when the vehicle reverses and alerts the driver of any approaching traffic on either side. The brakes are activated, if necessary, to avoid an impending collision.

04 Safety Exit AssistAlerts the driver of any vehicle(s) approaching quickly from the rear or sides after the SONATA N Line has stopped and one or more of its doors begin to open. Electronic child lock is activated to ensure the door doesn’t open.

05 Lane Keeping AssistThis system emits an audible alert if the driver leaves the lane without activating the turn signal while driving at a constant speed. It also automatically moves the car back into its lane by sending a signal to the steering system.

06 Highway Driving AssistThis system maintains a safe distance between the SONATA and the vehicle in front while driving on the highway. It helps keep the vehicle in the center of its lane at the speed set by the driver, even on a curved part of the road.

The digital key and the built-in camera offer users the new experience of having their

daily routine linked – in more ways than one – to their vehicle.

Convenience

* The Hyundai Digital Key NFC can only be used via smart phones programmed with this function. For compatible smart phone models, please refer to the Hyundai Motor website. The Apple iPhone blocks the service that enables the NFC function. Therefore, customers who have iPhones may not be able to use a smart phone-based digital key.

* To use services after linking with a smart phone, the built-in cam application must be installed on the smart phone. Hyundai Digital keyYou can open doors (from outside) and start the ignition—all via smartphone. Multiple individuals can use this feature, and personalized services are provided to each user. For example, they can use an NFC card key to enter and/or leave the car or to turn on the ignition.

Built-in camThis video-recording device, positioned on both ends of the car, is built around a high-resolution camera. It’s capable of recording time-lapse footage, and users can zoom in on saved data. Users can open a purpose-designed smartphone application to monitor their car in real time, play recorded videos, download saved videos, and upload a saved time lapse video to a social media account.
