My Life Got a call from an old friend we’d used to be real closeSaid he couldn’t go on the American wayClosed the shop, sold the house, bought a ticket to the west coastNow he gives them a stand-up routine in L.A

I don’t need you to worry for me cause I’m allrightI don’t want you to tell me it’s time to come homeI don’t care what you say anymore this is my lifeGo ahead with your own life leave me alone

I never said you had to offer me a second chanceI never said I was a victim of circumstanceI still belong, don’t get me wrongAnd you can speak your mind

But not on my timeThey will tell you you can’t sleep alone in a strange placeThen they’ll tell you can’t sleep with somebody elseAh but sooner or later you sleep in your own spaceEither way it’s O.K. you wake up with yourself

New York State of Mind Some folks like to get away, take a holiday from the neighborhoodHop a flight to Miami Beach or to HollywoodBut I’m taking a Greyhound on the Hudson River lineI’m in a New York state of mind

I seen all the movie stars in their fancy cars and their limousinesBeen high in the Rockies under the evergreensBut I know what I’m needing and I don’t want to waste more timeI’m in a New York state of mind

It was so easy living day by dayOut of touch with the rhythm and bluesWell, now I need a little give and takeThe New York TimesThe Daily News

It comes down to reality and it’s fine with me cause I’ve let it slideDon’t care if it’s Chinatown or on RiversideI don’t have any reasons, I’ve left them all behindI’m in a New York state of mindI’m just taking a Greyhound on the Hudson River lineCos I’m in a, I’m in a New York...state of...Mind

She’s Always a Woman To MeShe can kill with a smileShe can wound with her eyesShe can ruin your faith with her casual liesAnd she only reveals what she wants you to seeShe hides like a child,But she’s always a woman to me

She can lead you to loveShe can take you or leave youShe can ask for the truthBut she’ll never believe youAnd she’ll take what you give her, as long as it’s freeYeah, she steals like a thiefBut she’s always a woman to me

Oh - - she takes care of herselfShe can wait if she wantsShe’s ahead of her timeOh - - and she never gives outAnd she never gives inShe just changes her mind

And she’ll promise you moreThan the Garden of EdenThen she’ll carelessly cut youAnd laugh while you’re bleedin’But she’ll bring out the bestAnd the worst you can beBlame it all on yourselfCause she’s always a woman to me

--Mhmm--Oh - - she takes care of herselfShe can wait if she wantsShe’s ahead of her timeOh - - and she never gives outAnd she never gives inShe just changes her mind

She is frequently kindAnd she’s suddenly cruelShe can do as she pleasesShe’s nobody’s foolAnd she can’t be convicted

She’s earned her degreeAnd the most she will doIs throw shadows at youBut she’s always a woman to me--Mhmm--

She’s Got A Way She’s got a way about her I don’t know what it is But I know that I can’t live without her She’s got a way of pleasing I don’t know what it is But there doesn’t have to be a reason Anywa - y

She comes to me when I’m feelin’ down Inspires me without a sound She touches me and I get turned around She’s got a smile that heals me I don’t know why it is But I have to laugh when she reveals me She’s got a way of talkin’ I don’t know what it is But it lifts me up when we are walkin’ Anywhere

She comes to me when I’m feelin’ down Inspires me without a sound She touches me and I get turned around She’s got a way of showin’ How I make her feel And I find the strength to keep on goin’ She’s got a light around her And everywhere she goes A million dreams of love surround her Everywhere

She comes to me when I’m feelin’ down Inspires me without a sound She touches me and I get turned around Oh oh whoa whoa

She’s got a smile that heals me I don’t know why it is But I have to laugh when she reveals me She’s got a way about her I don’t know what it is But I know that I can’t live without her Anyway - hey

Movin OutAnthony works in the grocery store Saving his pennies for someday Mama Leone left a note on the door She said, “Sonny, move out to the country” Working too hard can give you a heart attack-ack-ack-ack-ack-ack You ought to know by now Who needs a house out in Hackensack? Is that all you get for your money?

It seems like a waste of time,if that’s what it’s all about Mama, if that’s movin’ up then I’mmovin’ out

Sergeant O’Leary is walking the beat At night he becomes a bar tender He works at Mister Cacciatore’s down on Sullivan Street Across from the Medical Center And he’s trading in his Chevy for a Cadillac-ac-ac-ac-ac-ac You ought to know by now And if he can’t drive with a broken back At least he can polish the fenders

It seems like a waste of time, if that’s what it’s all about Yea, if that’s movin’ up then I’m movin’ out

You should never argue with a crazy ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-mind You ought to know by now You can pay Uncle Sam with the overtime Is that all you get for your money?

And it seems such a waste of time,if that’s what it’s all about Good luck movin’ up ‘cos I’m movin’ out

Good Night Saigon We met as soul matesOn Parris IslandWe left as inmatesFrom an asylumAnd we were sharpAs sharp as knivesAnd we were so gung hoTo lay down our lives

We came in spasticLike tameless horsesWe left in plasticAs numbered corpsesAnd we learned fastTo travel lightOur arms were heavyBut our bellies were tight

We had no home frontWe had no soft soapThey sent us PlayboyThey gave us Bob HopeWe dug in deepAnd shot on sightAnd prayed to Jesus ChristWith all of our might

We had no camerasTo shoot the landscapeWe passed the hash pipeAnd played our Doors tapesAnd it was darkSo dark at nightAnd we held on to each otherLike brother to brotherWe promised our mothers we’d writeAnd we would all go down togetherWe said we’d all go down togetherYes we would all go down together

Remember CharlieRemember BakerThey left their childhoodOn every acreAnd who was wrong? And who was right? It didn’t matter in the thick of the fight

We held the dayIn the palmOf our handThey ruled the nightAnd the nightSeemed to last as long as six weeksOn Parris Island

We held the coastlineThey held the highlandsAnd they were sharpAs sharp as knivesThey heard the hum of our motorsThey counted the rotorsAnd waited for us to arriveAnd we would all go down togetherWe said we’d all go down togetherYes we would all go down together

Allentown Well we’re living here in Allentown And they’re closing all the factories down Out in Bethlehem they’re killing time Filling out forms Standing in line.

Well our fathers fought the Second World War Spent their weekends on the Jersey Shore Met our mothers at the USO Asked them to dance Danced with them slow

And we’re living here in Allentown. But the restlessness was handed down And it’s getting very hard to staaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay

Well we’re waiting here in Allentown For the Pennsylvania we never found For the promises our teachers gave If we worked hard If we behaved.

So the graduations hang on the wall But they never really helped us at all No they never taught us what was real Iron or coke, Chromium steel.

And we’re waiting here in Allentown. But they’ve taken all the coal from the ground And the union people crawled awaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay Every child had a pretty good shot To get at least as far as their old man got. If something happened on the way to that place They threw an American flag in our face,

Well I’m living here in Allentown And it’s hard to keep a good man down. But I won’t be getting up todaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy And it’s getting very hard to staaaaaaaaaaaaaay. And we’re living here in Allentown.

And So It Goes In every heart there is a room A sanctuary safe and strong To heal the wounds from lovers past Until a new one comes along

I spoke to you in cautious tones You answered me with no pretense And still I feel I said too much My silence is my self defense

And ev’ry time I’ve held a rose It seems I only felt the thorns And so it goes, and so it goes And so will you soon, I suppose

But if my silence made you leave Then that would be my worst mistake So I will share this room with you And you can have this heart to break

And this is why, my eyes are closed It’s just as well, for all i’ve seen And so it goes, and so it goes And you’re the only one who knows

So I would choose to be with you That’s if the choice were mine to make But you can make decisions too And you can have this heart to break

And so it goes, and so it goes And you’re the only one who knows

This is the Time We walked on the beach beside that old hotelThey’re tearing it down now, but it’s just as wellI haven’t shown you everything a man can doSo stay with me baby; I’ve got plans for you

This is the time to remember, cause it will not last foreverThese are the days to hold on to, cause we won’t, al-though we’ll want toThis is the time, but time is gonna change

You’ve given me the best of youAnd now I need the rest of you

Did you know that before you came into my lifeIt was some kind of miracle that I survivedSome day we will both look back and have to laughWe lived through a lifetime and the aftermath

This is the time to remember, cause it will not last foreverThese are the days to hold on to, cause we won’t, although we’ll want to

This is the time, but time is gonna changeI know we’ve got to move somehowBut I don’t want to lose you now

Sometimes it’s so easy to let a day slip on byWithout even seeing each other at allBut this is the time you’ll turn back and so will IAnd those will be days you can never recall

And so we embrace again behind the dunesThis beach is cold on winter afternoonsBut holding you close is like holding the summer sunI’m warm from the memory of days to come

This is the time to remember, cause it will not last foreverThese are the days to hold on to, cause we won’t, although we’ll want to

This is the time, but time is gonna changeYou’ve given me the best of youAnd now I need the rest of you

Only the Good Die Young Come out Virginia, don’t let me waitYou catholic girls start much too lateAw but sooner or later it comes down to fateI might as well be the one

Well, they showed you a statue, told you to prayThey built you a temple and locked you awayAw but they never told you the price that you payFor things that you might have done

Only the good die young that?s What I SaidOnly the good die young only the good die young

You might have heard I run with a dangerous crowd We ain’t too pretty we ain’t too proud We might be laughing a bit too loud Aw but that never hurt no one

So come on Virginia show me a sign Send up a signal I’ll throw you a line The stained-glass curtain you’re hiding behind Never lets in the sun

Darlin’ only the good die youngwhoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa I tell ya only the good die young only the good die young

You got a nice white dress and a party on your confirmation You got a brand new soul, hmmm and a cross of gold

But Virginia they didn’t give you quite enough information You didn’t count on me

Honesty If you search for tenderness it isn’t hard to find You can have the love you need to live And if you look for truthfulness you might just as well be blind It always seems to be so hard to give Honest- y is such a lonely word Everyone is so untrue Honest- y is hardly ever heard But mostly what I need from you I can always find someone to say they sympathize If I wear my heart out on my sleeve But I don’t want some pretty face to tell me pretty lies All I want is someone to believe

when you were counting on your rosary Oh whoa, whoa

They say there’s a heaven for those who will wait Some say its better but I say it ain’t I’d rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints The Sinners are much more fun

You know that only the good die young oh whoa baby I tell ya only the good die young only the good die young

(Instrumental)

You say your mother told you all that I could give you was a reputation Aw she never cared for me but did she ever say a prayer for me Oh whoa, whoa

Come out come out come out Virginia don?t let me wait You catholic girls start much too late Sooner or later it comes down to fate I might as well be the one

You know that only the good die youngtell you baby You know that only the good die young Only the good die young only the good...... Only the good die young Ooh, ooh, ooh... ooh, Ooh, ooh, ooh... ooh

Honest- y is such a lonely word Everyone is so untrue Honest- y is hardly ever heard But mostly what I need from you I can find a lover, I can find a friend I can have security until the bitter end Anyone can comfort me with promises again I know, I know When I’m deep inside of me, don’t be too concerned I won’t ask for nothing while I’m gone When I want sincerity tell me where else can I turn? Cause you’re the one that I depend upon

Piano Man It’s nine o’clock on a SaturdayThe regular crowd shuffles inThere’s an old man sittin’ next to meMakin’ love to his tonic and gin

He says, “Son can you play me a memory?I’m not really sure how it goesBut it’s sad and it’s sweet and I knew it completeWhen I wore a younger man’s clothes”

La, la-la, di-di-daLa-la di-di-da da-dum

Sing us a song, you’re the piano manSing us a song tonightWell, we’re all in the mood for a melodyAnd you’ve got us feelin’ alright

Now John at the bar is a friend of mineHe gets me my drinks for freeAnd he’s quick with a joke, or to light up your smokeBut there’s some place that he’d rather be

He says, “Bill, I believe this is killing me”As a smile ran away from his face“Well, I’m sure that I could be a movie starIf I could get out of this place”

Oh, la, la-la, di-di-daLa-la di-di-da da-dum

Now Paul is a real estate novelistWho never had time for a wifeAnd he’s talkin’ with Davy, who’s still in the navyAnd probably will be for life

And the waitress is practicing politicsAs the businessmen slowly get stonedYes, they’re sharing a drink they call lonelinessBut it’s better than drinkin’ alone

Sing us the song, you’re the piano manSing us a song tonightWell, we’re all in the mood for a melodyAnd you’ve got us feelin’ alright

It’s a pretty good crowd for a SaturdayAnd the manager gives me a smile‘Cause he knows that it’s me they’ve been comin’ to seeTo forget about life for a while

And the piano, it sounds like a carnivalAnd the microphone smells like a beerAnd they sit at the bar and put bread in my jarAnd say man what are you doin’ here?Oh, la, la-la, di-di-daLa-la di-di-da da-dum

Sing us the song, you’re the piano manSing us a song tonightWell, we’re all in the mood for a melodyAnd you’ve got us feelin’ alright

Margaritaville Nibblin on sponge cake, watchin the sun bake, all of those tourists covered with oil.

Strummin my six string, on my front porch swing, smell those shrimp they’re beginnin to boil.

Wastin away again in Margaritaville, searchin for my lost shaker of salt. Some people claim that there’s a woman to blame, but I know, it’s nobody’s fault.

Don’t know the reason, I stayed here all season. Nothin to show but this brand new tattoo.

But it’s a real beauty, a Mexican cutie, how it got here I haven’t a clue.

Wastin away again in Margaritaville, searchin for my lost shaker of salt. Some people claim that there’s a woman to blame, now I think, hell it could be my fault.

Hallelujah I heard there was a secret chordThat David played and it pleased the LordBut you don’t really care for music, do ya?

Well it goes like this the fourth, the fifthThe minor fall and the major liftThe baffled king composing hallelujahHallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelu-u-u-u-jaaah

Well your faith was strong but you needed proofYou saw her bathing on the roofHer beauty and the moonlight overthrew yaShe tied you to her kitchen chairShe broke your throne and she cut your hairAnd from your lips she drew the hallelujah

Chorus

Baby i’ve been here beforeI’ve seen this room and i’ve walked this floorI used to live alone before i knew yaI’ve seen your flag on the marble archBut love is not a victory marchIt’s a cold and it’s a broken hallelujah

Chorus

Well there was a time when you let me knowWhat’s really going on belowBut now you never show that to me do ya?But remember when i moved in youAnd the holy dove was moving tooAnd every breath we drew was hallelujah

Well, maybe there’s a god aboveBut all i’ve ever learned from loveWas how to shoot somebody who outdrew yaIt’s not a cry that you hear at nightIt’s not somebody who’s seen the lightIt’s a cold and it’s a broken hallelujah

Chorus

Your Man Baby, lock the door and turn the lights down lowAnd put some music on that’s soft and slowBaby, we ain’t got no place to goI hope you understand

I’ve been thinking ‘bout this all day longNever felt a feeling quite this strongI can’t believe how much it turns me onJust to be your man

There’s no hurry, don’t you worryWe can take our timeCome a little closer, let’s go overWhat I had in mind

Baby, lock the door and turn the lights down lowAnd put some music on that’s soft and slowBaby, we ain’t got no place to goI hope you understand

I’ve been thinking ‘bout this all day longNever felt a feeling quite this strongI can’t believe how much it turns me onJust to be your manAin’t nobody ever love nobodyThe way that I love youWe’re alone nowYou don’t know how long I’ve wanted to

Lock the door and turn the lights down lowAnd put some music on that’s soft and slowBaby, we ain’t got no place to goI hope you understand

I’ve been thinking ‘bout this all day longNever felt a feeling that was quite this strongI can’t believe how much it turns me onJust to be your man

Folsom PrisonI hear the train a comin’, it’s rolling ‘round the bendAnd I ain’t seen the sunshine since I don’t know whenI’m stuck in Folsom prison, and time keeps draggin’ onBut that train keeps a rollin’ on down to San Antone

When I was just a baby my mama told me, “SonAlways be a good boy, don’t ever play with guns”But I shot a man in Reno just to watch him dieWhen I hear that whistle blowing, I hang my head and cry

I bet there’s rich folks eating in a fancy dining carThey’re probably drinkin’ coffee and smoking big cigarsWell I know I had it coming, I know I can’t be freeBut those people keep a-movin’And that’s what tortures me

Well if they freed me from this prisonIf that railroad train was mineI bet I’d move it on a little farther down the lineFar from Folsom prison, that’s where I want to stayAnd I’d let that lonesome whistle blow my blues away

Let It be When I find myself in times of troubleMother Mary comes to meSpeaking words of wisdom, let it beAnd in my hour of darknessShe is standing right in front of meSpeaking words of wisdom, let it beLet it be, let it beLet it be, let it beWhisper words of wisdom, let it be

And when the broken-hearted peopleLiving in the world agreeThere will be an answer, let it beFor though they may be partedThere is still a chance that they will seeThere will be an answer, let it be

Let it be, let it beLet it be, let it beYeah, there will be an answer, let it beLet it be, let it beLet it be, let it beWhisper words of wisdom, let it be

Let it be, let it beAh, let it be, yeah, let it beWhisper words of wisdom, let it be

And when the night is cloudyThere is still a light that shines on meShine on until tomorrow, let it beI wake up to the sound of music,Mother Mary comes to meSpeaking words of wisdom, let it be

Hey Jude Hey Jude, don’t make it bad.Take a sad song and make it better.Remember to let her into your heart,Then you can start to make it better.

Hey Jude, don’t be afraid. You were made to go out and get her.The minute you let her under your skin,Then you begin to make it better.

And anytime you feel the pain, hey Jude, refrain,Don’t carry the world upon your shoulders. For well you know that it’s a fool who plays it coolBy making his world a little colder.

Hey Jude, don’t let me down. You have found her, now go and get her.Remember to let her into your heart,Then you can start to make it better.

So let it out and let it in, hey Jude, begin,You’re waiting for someone to perform with. And don’t you know that it’s just you, hey Jude, you’ll do,The movement you need is on your shoulder.

Hey Jude, don’t make it bad.Take a sad song and make it better.Remember to let her under your skin,Then you’ll begin to make itBetter better better better better better, oh.

Na na na nananana, nannana, hey Jude...

With a Little Help from My Friends What would you think if I sang out of tune,Would you stand up and walk out on me.Lend me your ears and I’ll sing you a song,And I’ll try not to sing out of key.

I get by with a little help from my friends,I get high with a little help from my friends,Going to try with a little help from my friends.

What do I do when my love is away.Does it worry you to be aloneHow do I feel by the end of the dayAre you sad because you’re on your own

I get by with a little help from my friends,I get high with a little help from my friends,Hmm Gunna to try with a little help from my friends.

Do you need anybody,I need somebody to love.Could it be anybodyI want somebody to love.

Would you believe in a love at first sight,Yes I’m certain that it happens all the time. What do you see when you turn out the light,I can’t tell you, but I know it’s mine

I get by with a little help from my friends,I get high with a little help from my friends,Hmm Gunna to try with a little help from my friends.

Do you need anybody,I need somebody to love.Could it be anybodyI want somebody to love.

I get by with a little help from my friends,I get high with a little help from my friends,Hmm Gunna to try with a little help from my friends.

Crocodile Rock I remember when rock was youngMe and Suzie had so much funHolding hands and skimming stonesHad an old gold Chevy, a place of my own

But the biggest kick I ever gotWas doing a thing called the Crocodile RockWhile the other kids were rocking round the clockWe were hopping and bopping to the Crocodile Rock

Well, Crocodile rocking is something shockingWhen your feet just can’t keep stillI never knew me a better time and I guess I never willOh, lady, mama those Friday nightsWhen Suzie wore her dresses tightAnd the Crocodile rocking was out of sightBut the years went by and the rock just diedSuzie went and left me for some foreign guyLong nights crying by the record machineDreaming of my Chevy and old blue jeans

But they’ll never kill the thrills we’ve gotBurning up to the Crocodile RockLearning fast as the weeks went pastWe really thought the Crocodile Rock would last

Well, Crocodile rocking is something shockingWhen your feet just can’t keep stillI never knew me a better time and I guess, I never willOh, lady, mama those Friday nightsWhen Suzie wore her dresses tightAnd the Crocodile rocking was out of sight

I remember when rock was youngMe and Suzie had so much funHolding hands and skimming stonesHad an old gold Chevy, a place of my own

But the biggest kick I ever gotWas doing a thing called the Crocodile RockWhile the other kids were rocking round the clockWe were hopping and bopping to the Crocodile Rock

Your Song It’s a little bit funnyThis feeling insideI’m not one of those who can easily hideI don’t have much money, but boy if I didI’d buy a big house where we both could live

If I was a sculptor, haBut then again, noOr a man who makes potions in a traveling showI know it’s not much, but it’s the best I can doMy gift is my song, and this one’s for you

And you can tell everybodyThis is your songIt may be quite simple, but now that it’s doneI hope you don’t mindI hope you don’t mindThat I put down in the wordsHow wonderful life is while you’re in the world

I sat on the roof and kicked off the mossWell a few of the verses, well they’ve got me quite crossBut the sun’s been quite kindWhile I wrote this songIt’s for people like you that keep it turned on

So excuse me forgettingBut these things I doYou see I’ve forgotten, if they’re green or they’re blueAnyway the thing is, what I really meanYours are the sweetest eyes I’ve ever seen

And you can tell everybodyThis is the songIt may be quite simple, but now that it’s doneI hope you don’t mindI hope you don’t mindThat I put down in the wordsHow wonderful life is while you’re in the world

I hope you don’t mindI hope you don’t mindThat I put down in the wordsHow wonderful life is while you’re in the world

Candle In The Wind Goodbye Norma JeanThough I never knew you at allYou had the grace to hold yourselfWhile those around you crawledThey crawled out of the woodworkAnd they whispered into your brainThey set you on the treadmillAnd they made you change your name

And it seems to me you lived your lifeLike a candle in the windNever knowing who to cling toWhen the rain set inAnd I would have liked to have known youBut I was just a kidYour candle burned out long beforeYour legend ever did

Loneliness was toughThe toughest role you ever playedHollywood created a superstarAnd pain was the price you paidEven when you diedOh the press still hounded youAll the papers had to sayWas that Marilyn was found in the nude

And it seems to me you lived your lifeLike a candle in the windNever knowing who to cling toWhen the rain set inAnd I would have liked to have known youBut I was just a kidYour candle burned out long beforeYour legend ever did

Goodbye Norma JeanThough I never knew you at allYou had the grace to hold yourselfWhile those around you crawledGoodbye Norma JeanFrom the young man in the twenty second rowWho sees you as something more than sexualMore than just our Marilyn Monroe

And it seems to me you lived your lifeLike a candle in the windNever knowing who to cling toWhen the rain set inAnd I would have liked to have known youBut I was just a kidYour candle burned out long beforeYour legend ever didYour candle burned out long beforeYour legend ever did

Sorry Seems to be the Hardest WordWhat have I gotta do to make you love me?What have I gotta do to make you care? What do I do when lightning strikes me?And I wake up and find that you’re not there

What’ve I gotta do to make you want me?Mmm hmm, what’ve I gotta do to be heard? What do I say when it’s all over? And sorry seems to be a hardest word

It’s sad, so sadIt’s a sad, sad situationAnd it’s gettin’ more and more absurd

It’s sad, so sadWhy can’t we talk it over?Ohh, it seems to meThat sorry seems to be the hardest word

It’s sad, so sadIt’s a sad, sad situationAnd it’s gettin’ more and more absurd

It’s sad, so sadWhy can’t we talk it over?Ohh, it seems to meThat sorry seems to be the hardest word

What do I do to make you love me?What have I got to do to be heard? What do I do when lightning strikes me?

What have I got to do?What have I got to do?When sorry seems to be the hardest wordOoh yeah, sorry seems to be the hardest word

Sweet CarolineNeil Diamond

Where it began, I can’t begin to knowingBut then I know it’s growing strongWas in the springAnd spring became the summerWho’d have believed you’d come along

Hands, touching handsReaching out, touching me, touching you

Sweet CarolineGood times never seemed so goodI’ve been inclinedTo believe they never wouldBut now I

Look at the night and it don’t seem so lonelyWe filled it up with only twoAnd when I hurtHurting runs off my shouldersHow can I hurt when holding you

One, touching oneReaching out, touching me, touching you

Sweet CarolineGood times never seemed so goodI’ve been inclinedTo believe they never wouldOh no, no

Sweet CarolineGood times never seemed so goodSweet CarolineI believe they never couldSweet CarolineGood times never seemed so good

Fire And RainJames Taylor

Just yesterday mornin’, they let me know you were goneSuzanne, the plans they made put an end to youI walked out this morning and I wrote down this songI just can’t remember who to send it to

I’ve seen fire and I’ve seen rainI’ve seen sunny days that I thought would never endI’ve seen lonely times when I could not find a friendBut I always thought that I’d see you again

Won’t you look down upon me, Jesus? You’ve got to help me make a standYou’ve just got to see me through another dayMy body’s aching and my time is at handAnd I won’t make it any other way

Oh, I’ve seen fire and I’ve seen rainI’ve seen sunny days that I thought would never endI’ve seen lonely times when I could not find a friendBut I always thought that I’d see you again

Been walking my mind to an easy timeMy back turned towards the sunLord knows, when the cold wind blowsIt’ll turn your head aroundWell, there’s hours of time on the telephone lineTo talk about things to comeSweet dreams and flying machines in pieces on the ground

Oh, I’ve seen fire and I’ve seen rainI’ve seen sunny days that I thought would never endI’ve seen lonely times when I could not find a friendBut I always thought that I’d see you, babyOne more time again, nowThought I’d see you one more time againThere’s just a few things coming my way this time around, nowThought I’d see you, thought I’d see you, fire and rain, now

Time Of Your Life Green Day

Another turning point, a fork stuck in the roadTime grabs you by the wrist, directs you where to goSo make the best of this test, and don’t ask whyIt’s not a question, but a lesson learned in time

It’s something unpredictableBut in the end, it’s rightI hope you had the time of your life

So take the photographs and still frames in your mindHang it on a shelf in good health and good timeTattoos of memories, and dead skin on trialFor what it’s worth, it was worth all the while

It’s something unpredictableBut in the end, it’s rightI hope you had the time of your life

It’s something unpredictableBut in the end, it’s rightI hope you had the time of your life

It’s something unpredictableBut in the end, it’s rightI hope you had the time of your life

You’ve Got a Friend James Taylor

When you’re down and troubledAnd you need some lovin’ careAnd nothin’, nothin’ is goin’ rightClose your eyes and think of meAnd soon I will be thereTo brighten up even your darkest night

You just call out my nameAnd you know, wherever I amI’ll come runnin’To see you againWinter, spring, summer or fallAll you have to do is callAnd I’ll be thereYou’ve got a friend

If the sky above youGrows dark and full of cloudsAnd that old north wind begins to blowKeep your head togetherAnd call my name out loudSoon you’ll hear me knockin’ at your door

You just call out my nameAnd you know, wherever I amI’ll come runnin’, runnin’, yeah, yeahTo see you againWinter, spring, summer or fallAll you have to do is callAnd I’ll be there, yes, I will

Now, ain’t it good to know that you’ve got a friendWhen people can be so cold? They’ll hurt you, yes, and desert youAnd take your soul if you let themOh, but don’t you let them

You just call out my nameAnd you know, wherever I amI’ll come runnin’, runnin’, yeah, yeahTo see you againWinter, spring, summer or fallAll you have to do is callAnd I’ll be there, yes, I willYou’ve got a friendYou’ve got a friend

Ain’t it good to know you’ve got a friendAin’t it good to know, ain’t it good to knowAin’t it good to knowYou’ve got a friendOh, yeah, now, you’ve got a friendYeah baby, you’ve got a friendOh, yeah, you’ve got a friend

Live Like You were DyingTim McGraw

He said I was in my early forties with a lot of life before meand a moment came that stopped me on a dimeI spent most of the next days looking at the x-raystalking ‘bout the options and talkin’ ‘bout sweet timeI asked him when it sank in if this might really be the real endHow’s it hit ‘cha when you get that kind of news, man what’cha do

I went sky divingI went rocky mountain climbingI went two point seven seconds on a bull named Fu ManAnd I loved deeper and I spoke sweeter and I gave forgiveness I’d been denyingand he said some day I hope you get the chance to live like you were dying

He said I was finally the husband that most the time I wasn’tAnd I became a friend a friend would like to haveAnd all of a sudden going fishin’ wasn’t such an impositionAnd I went three times that year I lost my dad

Well I finally read the Good Bookand I took a good long hard look at what I’d do if I could do it all again and then...

I went sky divingI went rocky mountain climbingI went two point seven seconds on a bull named Fu ManAnd I loved deeper and I spoke sweeter and I gave forgiveness I’d been denyingand he said some day I hope you get the chance to live like you were dying

Like tomorrow was a gift and you got eternity to think about what you’d do with itWhat could you do with itWhat could I do with itWhat would I do with it

I went sky divingI went rocky mountain climbingI went two point seven seconds on a bull named Fu ManAnd I loved deeper and I spoke sweeter and I gave forgiveness I’d been denyingand he said some day I hope you get the chance to live like you were dyingTo live like you were dying x4

Brown Eyed Girl Van Morrison

Hey, where did we go? Days when the rains cameDown in the hollow, Playin’ a new gameLaughin’ and a-runnin’, hey, hey, Skippin’ and a-jumpin’

In the misty morning fog withOur, our hearts a-thumping and you

My brown-eyed girl, and you’re my brown-eyed girl

And whatever happened, Tuesday is so slow?Going down the old mine with a transistor radioStanding in the sunlight laughingHiding behind a rainbow’s wallSlipping and sliding, all along the waterfall with you

My brown-eyed girl, you’re my brown-eyed girl

Do you remember when we used to sing?Sha-la-la, la-la, la-la, la-la, la-la tee-da (Just like that)Sha-la-la, la-la, la-la, la-la, la-la tee-da, la-tee-da

So hard to find my way, now that I’m all on my ownI saw you just the other day, my, how you have grownCast my memory back there, LordSometimes I’m overcome thinking ‘bout it

Making love in the green grassBehind the stadium with youMy brown-eyed girl, a-you’re my brown-eyed girl

Do you remember when we used to sing?Sha-la-la, la-la, la-la, la-la, la-la tee-daSha-la-la, la-la, la-la, la-la, la-la tee-da

Cats in the CradleHarry Chapin

My child arrived just the other dayHe came to the world in the usual wayBut there were planes to catch and bills to payHe learned to walk while I was awayAnd he was talkin’ ‘fore I knew it, and as he grewHe’d say “I’m gonna be like you dadYou know I’m gonna be like you”

And the cat’s in the cradle and the silver spoonLittle boy blue and the man on the moonWhen you comin’ home dad?I don’t know when, but we’ll get together then sonYou know we’ll have a good time then

My son turned ten just the other dayHe said, “Thanks for the ball, Dad, come on let’s playCan you teach me to throw”, I said “Not todayI got a lot to do”, he said, “That’s ok”And he walked away but his smile never dimmedAnd said, “I’m gonna be like him, yeahYou know I’m gonna be like him”

And the cat’s in the cradle and the silver spoonLittle boy blue and the man on the moonWhen you comin’ home dad?I don’t know when, but we’ll get together then sonYou know we’ll have a good time then

Well, he came home from college just the other daySo much like a man I just had to say“Son, I’m proud of you, can you sit for a while?”He shook his head and said with a smile“What I’d really like, Dad, is to borrow the car keysSee you later, can I have them please?”

And the cat’s in the cradle and the silver spoonLittle boy blue and the man on the moonWhen you comin’ home son?I don’t know when, but we’ll get together thenYou know we’ll have a good time then

I’ve long since retired, my son’s moved awayI called him up just the other dayI said, “I’d like to see you if you don’t mind”He said, “I’d love to, Dad, if I can find the timeYou see my new job’s a hassle and kids have the fluBut it’s sure nice talking to you, DadIt’s been sure nice talking to you”

And as I hung up the phone it occurred to meHe’d grown up just like meMy boy was just like me

And the cat’s in the cradle and the silver spoonLittle boy blue and the man on the moonWhen you comin’ home son?I don’t know when, but we’ll get together thenYou know we’ll have a good time then

Thinking Out LoudEd Sheeran

When your legs don’t work like they used to beforeAnd I can’t sweep you off of your feetWill your mouth still remember the taste of my loveWill your eyes still smile from your cheeks

And darling I will be loving you ‘til we’re 70And baby my heart could still fall as hard at 23And I’m thinking ‘bout how people fall in love in mysterious waysMaybe just the touch of a handOh me I fall in love with you every single dayAnd I just wanna tell you I am

So honey nowTake me into your loving armsKiss me under the light of a thousand starsPlace your head on my beating heartI’m thinking out loudMaybe we found love right where we are

When my hair’s all but gone and my memory fadesAnd the crowds don’t remember my nameWhen my hands don’t play the strings the same way, mmI know you will still love me the same

‘Cause honey your soul can never grow old, it’s evergreenBaby your smile’s forever in my mind and memoryI’m thinking ‘bout how people fall in love in mysterious waysMaybe it’s all part of a planI’ll just keep on making the same mistakesHoping that you’ll understand

But baby nowTake me into your loving armsKiss me under the light of a thousand starsPlace your head on my beating heartI’m thinking out loudThat maybe we found love right where we are, oh

So baby nowTake me into your loving armsKiss me under the light of a thousand starsOh darling, place your head on my beating heartI’m thinking out loudThat maybe we found love right where we areOh baby, we found love right where we are (maybe)And we found love right where we are
