a set of siblings named Sonic and Goose were just growing up and minding their own business. They liked tacos on Tuesday, riding bikes, and being the coolest kids in school. Sonic was faster than any student in the history of third grade. From the other side of the playground, he could sprint across the blacktop and score a handball point before the red ball ever left an opponent’s hand.

Once upon a time...

His younger sister had special powers, too. Goose was able to read people’s minds and influence their thoughts. Sonic and Goose were very special children.

However, one day their special powers were called to the test. A dark cloud hovered over Longfellow Elementary and it threatened the lives of all the students below. Sonic and Goose knew that they had to do something. They had to save their friends.

“What are we going to do?” Goose asked. “We have to stop that cloud,” Sonic said. “But I don’t know how to...not yet, anyway.” “I can’t read its thoughts,” she said. “There’s no way that I can use my mind to make it move in the other direction.” “I’m going to try and run around it real fast,” Sonic said. “And drag it over the ocean.”

“Oh no,” Goose said, “that didn’t work! I’m going to call a friend, maybe he knows how to help us.”

“As long as you guys work together, than you’ll be able to do anything,” the squid said, coming down into the cloud. But just like that, he was gone again. “He’s right,” Goose said. “You’re my brother and we can do this, we can save our friends.”

“Can you think real hard and make a rainbow?” “I can try,” she said. “I know you can,” Sonic said. “And once you do, I’m going to get this tornado out of here.”

Goose found her power and she made a rainbow and then Sonic found his speed. He whirled around and around that tornado and then dragged it back to the ocean. Longfellow Elementary was saved. Goose and Sonic were heroes. “As long as we stick together sis,” Sonic said, “we can accomplish anything.” “A little rainbow can fix any cloud,” she said. They laughed and then ate tacos. It was Tuesday, afterall.
