Be physically

active at least

one hour every

day.

Kids and teens need 60 minutes

of physical activity every day to

stay healthy!

Some easy ways to get more

activity into your daily routine

are:

• Take a family walk around

the neighborhood

• Have a family dance party in

your living room

• Toss or kick a ball around in

the yard

• Do morning stretches or yoga

• Play tag in your backyard

Good brushing habits keep your teeth

healthy! Brush for at least 2 minutes, 2

times a day. That is just 4 minutes every

day. And never share your toothbrush!

This spreads germs and could make

your and the person you share with sick.

Eliminate use of and exposure to

tobacco and nicotine

products.

Smoking is one of the worst

things you can do to your

body. Smoking can cause cancer and

heart disease. It can also make your

breath smell bad, turn your teeth yellow,

make your sick more often, make it hard

for you to play sports, and empty your wallet (cigarettes and

tobacco products are expensive). Do yourself a favor and do not

start!

Florida Watermelon Pops

Ingredients: • 4-6 cups watermelon (seedless),

cubed

• 4 tablespoons lime juice

• ¼ cup sugar

• 1 lime, zest only

Directions:

• Add all ingredients to the blender,

puree until smooth.

• Pour into a popsicle mold (use wooden

popsicles sticks or molds that have

sticks provided)

• Freeze for at least 3 hours to set.

• Unmold and serve immediately.

• Enjoy!

Cut back on soda, sugar-sweetened tea,

fruit or sport drinks.

It can be hard to drink enough water every day, but it is

very important during the summer months. Our bodies

lose water through breathing, sweating, and digestion.

Use these tips to help you stay hydrated and energized:

• Use frozen fruit instead of ice cubes

• Flavor water with fruits like cucumbers, lemons, and limes

• Use a stainless steel tumbler to keep your drink cold all day
