By Heinrich Wefelscheid

Fachbereich Mathematik. Universitiit Duisburg, Lotharstr. Federal Republic of Germany

65. D-4100 Duisburg

With regard to the edition of the Collected Works of Edmund Landau (1877- 1938), 10 volumes, of which volumes 1 to 9 have already been published by Thales-Verlag, Essen, and which are edited by P. T. Bateman, L. Mirsky, H. L. Montgomery, W. Schaal, I. J. Schoenberg, W. Schwarz, and H. Wefelscheid, the latter announces that he and Elizabeth Brody (a granddaughter of Landau and a greatgranddaughter of Paul Ehrlich) are collecting memorabilia related to the life and work of Edmund Landau, i.e., letters (or copies of letters), articles in which Landau is mentioned, photographs (when possible, identified as to time and place), and any other relevant material. Anecdotes about Landau and notes of his lectures are also of interest.

All material collected will be held in trust and finally deposited with the library of some central institution, and thus will be available for future historians.
