• SANS 1876- Feature Instance Identification, defines a Unique
alpha numeric identifier

AA = Custodian identification xxxxxxxxxx = 10 digit portion
assigned by the CSI assigned by custodian
aa = check sum character for data integrity checking

Code: 57 Name: Road Definition: A path or way used by vehicles, pedestrians and/or animals. Aliases: Attribute: Enumerated_type Values: 1. National freeway A limited-access, dual carriageway free of obstructions with a minimum speed limit to keep slow vehicles off the
freeway. These roads carry an “N” designation. 2. National road The main network of roads linking cities of national importance, harbours and some border towns. The national routes
form the country's major road transport infrastructure and are maintained by the national government. 3. Arterial road A wide, busy road that joins important towns and cities in each province to the national route network. The government
of each province is responsible for their own arterial roads.
4. Main road A road linking large towns which are not on national or arterial routes, to the nearest major centre or city. Both local
and provincial authorities maintain main roads.
