2017 Catalog of Specialty Daffodils

This marks our ninth year and we thank everyone for the support you have given this

small venture that strives to keep specialty daffodils on the market for those who love

these beautiful flowers. This year we got to see lots of division nines and very late

blooming flowers as the season just flew by. So we are offering a whole page of division

nines to extend your blooming season as they are always the last to bloom. Mary Lou

Gripshover named her last daffodils to bloom: ‘Final Curtain’ 3W-Y a great intermediate

and ‘Happy Ending’ 4W-W with another late bloomer ‘Happy End’ 7Y-Y from Roberta

Watrous. These will be offered this year too.

But new listings this year from Mary Lou include:

‘Miami Trace’ a 9W-GYR that blooms Mid-Season

to late and is named after an ancient Indian trail that

went from the Great lakes region to the Gulf Coast. It

was registered in 2016. Cost $35. VL

‘Island Queen’ a 2W-P also

registered in 2016 and

named for the historic Ohio

steamship. It is a real beauty! It blooms Early to Mid season.

Cost $35. VL

A beautiful Intermediate from

Mary Lou is her ‘Temple Hills’

3W-YYO which blooms Mid-

Season to Late. Cost is $30. VL

Temple Hills when you see this blue underlined name

from the computer page listing you can click on it to go to

the Daffseek page at the American Daffodil Society for a

full listing of the flower’s details. VL means Very Limited

so we will only sell one bulb per customer.

From Bob Spotts very own collection we are glad we can again

offer his famous GREEN daffodil Mesa Verde It’s a 12G-GGY

and can have one to three blooms per stem. Blooms Early to

Mid-Season. Another quality of this beauty is that is has a very

long cut flower life in a vase-so you can enjoy it beyond the show

bench! Cost $25.

Also from Bob’s collection is Otaki Pearl

Which is an 8W-W from Bruce Irwin of New Zealand.

It is a Mid-Season bloomer and for us on the East

Coast grows as a miniature. Having now seen how

Tazettas grow on the West Coast, where you have to shave the

stem to fit it in the show test tube-we are talking HUGE stems!!-

it might not be a mini there. But we have entered it many times

in mini collections as its size fits our scale and it is a good one

for a different division needed. A lovely flower! Cost $20.

‘Camp Nine’ 2W-Y: formerly his #14-11 Rose Ribbon winner in

Richmond in 2017 and used in other blue ribbon collections. Only 5
