Possible 2020 Club to Club Exchange

There will be sign-up and more details for a possible 2020 exchange at Rally Night. Please speak to Kelly Young or e-mail her at [email protected].

Our 4-H Members, Taya and Natasha Dronzek have been selected as finalists to compete at the 4-H Canada Science Fair in Truro, N.S. This will take place on Feb. 27 – March 3rd at Dalhousie University. Their project was called Positive Reinforcement – And the Effect on Rabbits. Best of luck ladies! We know you will represent South Simcoe proudly!

Must have a completed Participation Agreement from all volunteers each year.

Friday, May 24th, 2019 is the deadline to have all money, club enrollment lists, and participation agreements handed into Carla Williams. Project Animal Identification Forms (PAIF) forms must also be completed online through AssistExpo by this date.

When it is time to renew your police check, an e-mail will come from 4-H Ontario. Police Checks will now be required every 3 years.

There must be two fully screened volunteers at every 4-H meeting.

There is re-engagement training available at the AGM or the leader meeting. Every volunteer must re-engage every two years.

Completing a 4-H Club….What does it take?

In order for 4-H Members to complete their club satisfactorily, they must:

Complete and submit an electronic Project Animal Identification Form using

Assist Expo and send the confirmation e-mail to their leader AND Carla

Williams NO LATER than Friday, May 24th (Livestock Clubs only)

Sign a 4-H Ontario Participation Agreement (parent must sign as well);

Be a member in good standing (i.e. fully paid his/her membership fee and

abide by the 4-H Member Code of Conduct);

Participate in at least 2/3 of his/her own meeting time (total minimum

meeting time for a club is 12 hours) Must attend the judging competition on

June 15th if they are in a livestock club (or make arrangements to attend in

another county)

Complete the project requirements to the satisfaction of the club leader(s);

Take part in an Achievement Program(Beeton, Barrie or Collingwood Fair

unless otherwise stated by your leader). A member is allowed to participate

in an Achievement Program only if he/she has participated in at least 2/3 of

the meeting time of his/her own club prior to the Achievement Program;

Be between the ages of 9 – 21 (as of January 1st of current year)

Those wishing to participate on the RAWF dairy or beef team must have their

Royal Entry Eligibility forms to Carla Williams or their leader NO LATER than

Monday, September 23, 2019.

Livestock Policy Highlights Applies to dairy, beef, sheep and horse.

One animal per commodity in order to attend Royal or be eligible for local awards. Project Form must be submitted online by May 24th, 2019 using Assist Expo. No animal substitutions. YOU MUST show with your project animal as indicated on your project form. Animals and ear tags are subject to being checked by a leader and/or an association board member at any time.

Does your Club use Milk?

If your club uses milk as part of their meeting either as a snack or as an ingredient, you can be reimbursed! The Simcoe County Milk Producers will reimburse each club

to a maximum of $50.00 per year towards the cost of milk. Simply submit your receipt to Matthew Keffer at [email protected]
