The UNASUR Plan Region free of Cervical Cancer to translating commitment into practice
XI Ordinary Assembly of the South American Health Council (Ministers of Health) – September 11, 2015, Montevideo - Uruguay A Regional Plan UNASUR Region Free of Cervical
Cancer proposed by RINC was approved to decrease incidence and eliminate mortality from cervical cancer in South America.
RINC was given responsibility to develop and deliver the Plan in 2016.

Creation of the RINC Cervical Cancer Control Working Group [8 countries]. Design of the Platform for Exchange of Experiences and Technical Assistance for Cervical Cancer Prevention in Latin America. Establishment of 5 thematic work components.
Confirmation of the Platform and extension from 5 to 9 thematic components of the Working Group. Mandate of the South American Health Council (CSS) of UNASUR at RINC to develop a Technical Assistance Plan.
