Task Order Contracting

Divide pipeline projects into approximately 40 task orders

CH2M HILL team to provide 6 design teams City to pre-qualify to retain 6 acceptable

contractors– Unit price bids based on 1/6 of the total quantities

As designs are completed, work is assigned to contractors by task order

Smaller construction packages encourage participation by local contractors

Page 20: South Tampa Area Reclaimed (STAR) Project Phase II City of Tampa, Florida Presented to: Presented by: May 2005

Task Order Contracting optimizes design and construction

Allows for simultaneous design and construction, saving time and cost of individual project bidding

Task orders are sized to reduce impact on neighborhoods

Gets users on line quickly and encourages more customers to connect
