LEGISLATIVE CORNERThe GVCC is in con-stant dialogue with ourelected officialsregarding theAffordable Care Actand general issuesregarding health insur-ance that impactsbusinesses. Recently,Congressman FrankLoBiondo notified usabout the requirement for employers with more than 200 employees toautomatically enroll new employees in a company-offered health plan. This requirement was repealed in the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2015,which Congressman LoBiondo voted for and it became law onNovember 2, 2015. We will continue to follow legislation regardinghealthcare and fight to have our voices heard.
On behalf of our members, we are opposing a NJ Senate Bill S3169 thatwould allow county governments to impose a 1% tax on hotel/motelrooms in order to raise money to reduce county property taxes. Webelieve this bill would be regressive to our tourism industry and sports-centered programs that utilize hotels in our region. We have contactedthe Senators of Districts 33 and 36 who chair the Senate Budget andAppropriations Committee, as well as copied our District 1 Senator JeffVan Drew.

The Real Value of Belonging to the GreaterVineland Chamber of Commerce
“Sir Speedy of Vineland has been a Chamber Member formany years.... Our membership allows us to keep active in manycommunity events, and form great partnerships and relation-ships with other businesses in the community. Dawn and Cathyare amazing, there are so many events going on all the time, andwhen you attend the events it is a wonderful networking experi-ence. We received great exposure with our meet and greet, and it was a very success-ful event. Being a Chamber Member is very helpful in getting your business exposed. We take great pride in being Chamber Members and look forward to many more greatyears with the Vineland Chamber of Commerce.”
