‘Anyone who has the Soyombo will succeed ’

Under the eternalblue skies

1686 Undur Geghen Zanabazar, First resplendent Saint and Bogd Khan of Mongolia had a visionof letter-like signs in the eternal skies of Mongolia from which he invented the Soyombo script. The Soyombo script symbolises the eternal sovereignty of Mongolia. The Soyombo symbol is

the first letter of the alphabet and means ‘enlightened’ or ‘created out of itself’.

From the legends ofa nomadic people

THE FLAMEHas three branches that stand for the past,

present and future and will flourish three times.

THE SUN AND THE MOON Represent the eternal Mongolian sky.

THE TWO HORIZONTAL RECTANGLES Represent honesty, justice and nobility.

THE ROUND FORM Symbolises complimentary duality and thus the eternal nature of the lifecycle.

THE TWO TRIANGLES Symbolise the shape of the spear and arrow.

They both point down to symbolise defeat of the enemy.

THE TWO VERTICAL RECTANGLESRepresent the fortress wall and are linked to the old Mongolian proverb ‘The friendship of two is stronger than stone walls’.

Comes a remarkableVodka

Crafted in small batches at the original distillery site of the last Emperor’s Palace, the Bogd Khan’s Winter Palace located in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia.

Made with the finest organic wheat from Selenge on the Mongolian Steppes.

Distilled 6 times with the purest Alpha-grade spirit.

Filtered for 5 days over charcoal, quartz, diamonds and silver.

The pure spring water that has melted from the snow on the Sacred Bogd Khan Mountains and flowed under the lands across which the nomadic tribes still move, brings the spirit of eternal sovereignty to Soyombo.

Tasting Notes

NoseDistinct aniseed and fresh bread, hint of croissant and dark chocolate.

PalateElegant, medium-bodied mouth feel, creaminess soon opens up with growing creamy aniseed accompanied by light-medium sweetness, and a hint of underlying dryness, followed by a hint of luscious citrus with bread notes slowly emerging. Becomes slightly ‘fuller’ on the palate while retaining elegance.

FinishDryness leads and grows, followed by a hint of sweetness, aniseed and a hint of pepper at the edges.

Traditional Ritual

The traditional Mongolian drinking ritual is to dip your ring finger into the liquid and then flick the finger to the past behind, the present above you and the future before you. It is traditional to offer vodka in a silver bowl with your right hand.
