In the heart of Ribera del Duero are found the origins of Grupo Matarromera, which has today become one of the most significant viticulture companies of the sector at the national and international levels.

Its founder, Carlos Moro, comes from a family that is closely tied to the vineyard, whose ancestors cultivated with great care and passion. Established in 1988 by this winemaker who lives for and by wine, it is located in the town of Valbuena de Duero (Valladolid, Spain), in the nerve center of the so-called “Golden Mile” of Ribera del Duero.

415 hectares of terroir distributed across the strategic zones of the Duero valley are cultivated with loving care with the most advanced technologiesto give fruit to the best grapes, rich in polyphenols.

Our Tempranillo grapes grow and prosper in limestone soils where the extreme climate conditions endow them with unique qualities, making them rich, complex and resistant.

In order to defend themselves from these adverse climatic conditions, as well as microorganisms and insects, they generate different polyphenol compounds in elevated concentrations, highlighted among them catechins, epicatechins, tannins, flavonoids, stilbenes, etc.

WHAT ARE POLYPHENOLS?Polyphenols of the red grape are some of the most effective natural antioxidants, with numerous clinical studies appraising their application in the fields of cosmetics and skin care.

It has been scientifically proven that polyphenols have an elevated antioxidant capacity, superior to that of Vitamins C and E.
