• Space that can be divided by walls, dividers, or other objects or by none of the above.

• Assume that your user will always take the shortest path. Design to control the traffic flow.

• Allow a minimum of 3 feet width for hallways.

• Avoid creating tunnels or long hallway passages.

• Allow a minimum of 24 inches passage between furniture.

when opened or placing something in the way of opening a door.
