Purpose of this document:

The compatibilities and validity of DX-G (with Software Version < NIM_2000) andDX-M / DX-G (with Software Version ≥ NIM_2000) spare parts respectively enclosures are described.

1 Compatibility of DX-G and DX-M Spare Parts

Related to the mechanical structure and the components of the device the DX-M digitizerand the DX-G digitizer are very similar to each other. Therefore it is possible to assemblemost of the DX-G spare parts in the DX-M digitizer.

For that reason, the enclosures delivered with the spare parts will be updated to adapt themto the DX-M digitizer.

IMPORTANT:

When ordering a spare part it is possible to get a not yet updated enclosurelabeled "DX-G" only. These Enclosures are also valid for DX-M.

Three exceptions have to be considered:

• Photo Multiplier Tube (PMT) with Light Collector with order number*

CM+9 5170 3000 2 is not compatible with DX-M and may never be mountedinto DX-M!For DX-M it is necessary to order the Photo Multiplier Tube (PMT) withLight Collector with order number*: CM+9 5170 3001 0

* The last digit in the order number indicates the spare part revision at release of this document.When ordering, the actual revision of the spare part is delivered.

There is a label on the PMT with Light Collector (see Figure 1), which definesthe qualification of the PMT. If there is no label, the PMT with Light Collector isonly for GenRad use.

• Buffer complete with order number* CM+9 5170 6000 3 may only be used forDX-G with Software Version < NIM_2000, since it is containing the smallStepper Motor for cassette transport belt.

For DX-M / DX-G with Software Version ≥ NIM_2000 it is necessary to orderBuffer complete with order number* CM+9 5170 6001 0The revised buffer is containing a bigger Stepper Motor for cassette transportbelt including improved Stepper motor control curves.

• Stepper Motor Cassette Transport with order number* CM+9 5170 5931 0may only be used for DX-G with Software Version < NIM_2000.

For DX-M / DX-G with Software Version ≥ NIM_2000 it is necessary to orderthe Stepper Motor Cassette Transport" with order number*:CM+9 5170 5316 0
